In a room of beautiful successful women. I was honored to attend the JL Turner Legal Association’s DBWA Sparkler. The Dallas Black Women Attorneys been in existence for 43 years. I have attended the Sparkler for at least 25 years and every year it is a memorable event. by @lorengs1

Every time I go to the post office, I buy more stamps because I can never find the ones I already have.

Well, today I found them: 54 Forever stamps, a whole sheet of penny stamps, a couple of $1 stamps, a couple of $2 stamps, some 3-cent stamps—and several others I can’t even identify!

Apparently, I have enough postage to open my own little post office…yet I keep buying stamps! Please tell me I’m not the only one. by @lorengs1

I had this dress custom-made at a market in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012. Fourteen years later, the Ankara fabric is still beautiful and brilliant—and believe it or not, the dress still fits! I’m so glad I chose a style that has stood the test of time. It brings back some wonderful memories of Cape Town. Bettina, we need to got back.. #capetownmemories by @lorengs1

Fifty-four years ago today, God blessed me with a tiny 3½-pound baby boy. He may be a grown man with a gray beard now, but he will always be my little bambino.

From the moment I held him in my arms, he has been the apple of my eye—my sun, my moon, and my stars. Watching him grow from that precious little baby into the wonderful man he is today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

District 4 Commissioner at Work!

Doing the work and staying connected to the community! Tonight, I’m attending a District 4 community meeting, listening as property owners answer neighbors’ questions, address concerns, and share information about what’s being proposed.

This is an important part of serving as a Commissioner—showing up, listening, asking questions, and hearing directly from the people who will be impacted.

Community voices matter, and informed decisions start with listening.
