Been working on lots of things quietly lately, finally taking the time and space that I actually need away from being online and not allowing myself to feel guilty about it. Sometimes it’s really fun to share things here as I make them- it’s exciting to share the process. But it’s also distracting, and at times discouraging when I lose steam and I’m unable to deliver on something I truly want to be able to do. After taking a few weeks away from instagram other than just checking messages on my computer I realized how overstimulating it all really is. And how normalized that overstimulation has become for me after using this platform for as long as I have. The entertainment and the enjoyment that I’ve found here is often drowned out by the noise and the algorithm roulette of horrors of everyday happenings in this era. I feel like I am not made for this sometimes. I’m still searching for the middle ground that keeps me connected while allowing me to create art in a safe space, because I know that is the only way for me to be able to do what I need to do. I am unable to untether myself and paint regularly amid the constant chaos (although I really really wish I was).

Anyway- show season began last weekend and will continue this weekend at highland park! My event schedule is always on my website if anyone ever wants to see it before I share it here. Do I need to write a caption for this? I would rather be human imperfectly than use ai and lose my soul.

Getting back into making art but I don’t want to post high resolution versions of my work here anymore because I refuse to feed the machine praying on my downfall and the destruction of the careers of every single person in any creative field (and even people in other fields since ai makes things so much more “efficient” /s 🫠)

So there’s going to be more silly low res photos of art here in the wild and in different contexts and no more fancy 600dpi scans that I edited and polished and shined up all pretty. 🫶🏻

Also fyi all cats hate gen ai too. They appreciate quality

Last little tidbit, ai data centers literally kill bees. We need bees. Stop using ai. It’s not worth it. by @lorettabelleart

I have a few watercolor classes coming up this month if anyone would like to take a class with me! 🎉 All of these classes are very beginner friendly so if you’d like to try your hand at painting watercolor and you never have before or you’re nervous from past experiences I’d be happy to have you! 💗 no experience required and I provide all materials! by @lorettabelleart

Hello! This class has been a long time coming! (Like almost a year at least) If you have ever wanted to do a little deep dive into basic essential watercolor techniques then this is the class for you! There is so much more we’re going to cover in this class like masking fluid, pen and ink, color combos, gradients, swatching, etc but this is already a bit long as it is haha! My heart is filled with love once again after this year’s pocono pride. I am so glad to be able to be a small part of this event and that I got to see all of your wonderful faces again this year 💗🌈 it is so so cool to meet people and then see them again the next year and be remembered and seen in such a wholesome and accepting environment. It’s difficult for me to put into words how much it means when people share what my art means to them, but the simplest way for me to put it is that it means quite a lot. To be able to connect with people and talk with them and know they’re bringing my art into their lives intentionally and they actually love it and are glad to have it has ~genuinely~ changed my life.

Outdoor events are a labor of love- much like the rest of my work, and there is no better place to spread love to all than pride! 🌈💗 happy pride month y’all! taken in Pocono Pride Festival by @lorettabelleart

*EDIT* This market has unfortunately been rained out with no rain date 😭

Fully immersed in prep for @clovermarket this weekend in Collingswood, NJ! 🙂 Crossing my fingers for no rain and wind and a nice spring day! The market will run from 10AM-4PM on Sunday the 26th in the Thriven Design & North Atlantic Ave lot right next to the PATCO station! I’ll be in space 79 so if you’re searching for a Mother’s Day gift and you’re in the Philly area this weekend come say hi and see all the cool stuff!! 💗

I’M FREEEEEEE sorry im a few days late for April fools but i did in fact only just now finish doing all my tax prep- it takes forever, its not fun at all, gives me severe anxiety, makes me question my life choices every year, and THIS year when i finally finished it was such a gorgeous day out it felt like the universe was on my side and i had to celebrate in a really goofy way lol

Also if you’re curious, these are the flowers shown in order!! Daffodils, grape hyacinth, dandelion, glory of the snow, tree flower???? (idk i found it on the ground) forsythia, big hyacinth, & carpet bugle! Some of them are weeds but it’s spring and I don’t care all flowers are beautiful~

Still have to go to my appointment to have them officially stamped as done and filed but I have no done my end and the amount of relief is massive!! And it’s a Friday?? I’m freeeee!!!! I will finally have time to make more art and do fun stuff!! 😭 by @lorettabelleart

Starting tomorrow March 7th you’ll be able to find me at a new local maker shop in Downtown Northampton, @theatlas.and.ellieemporium !! There will be a grand opening this weekend on Saturday from 10AM- 5PM and from then on the store will be open every week Wednesday through Sunday from 10AM - 5PM!

The two new sleeping kitties I’ve been teasing in my stories will be there as well as a completely new line of butterfly greeting cards!! You guys know I love a pegboard and it was genuinely so much fun having the space to spread out my work and try a new layout! Designing my display here was a blast and knowing I have room to grow into and try new things down the line is a very cool feeling! (I have many ideas hehe)

If you get the chance, definitely check out the store! It’s bright and cheerful and homey and all of the makers are incredibly talented! This video is long overdue, but I am a vendor in the Belleville Market in Downtown Easton PA right off of the central square! I have been a vendor here since October but I realized when I did my most recent restock last week I had never made a formal feed post announcing it since the holidays is a very busy season for me. But better late than never!

I am so thankful to have the chance to grow my shop and be a part of the lovely community that is local shops! 💗 @bellevillemarket is open every week Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday 11AM to 6PM and Friday Saturday 11 AM to 8PM!

There is genuinely so much cool stuff to see in the store every time I go to restock so definitely check it out when you’ve got a free afternoon to browse the shelves, or when you need a good gift! 😉
