Another fun night under the banner of Generation Women Australia. A Pride-themed evening of storytelling, carefully curated by the organisers and hosted by the delightful Rebecca Lister. Intergenerational experiences shared by six of us, each representing “our” generation, interweaving and entangling lives and stories in mysterious and meaningful ways. Plus laughs. Plus tears. Plus a bit of a boogie. They’re always looking for new speakers so give me a hoy if you’re Narrm-based, female or nonbinary identifying and willing to be nominated. Lots o’ fun and a safe space in which to tell our stories. by @lorettaleonie

On the road again with @petamurr @lorettaleonie for a packed-out event with @elthambookshop and University 3A Nillumbik today. Note the beautiful handmade sign. And looking forward to our extravaganza in West Footscray tomorrow evening @chestnuttreebookshop with the stellar @emiliecollyer (for which tickets might still be available from Chest Nut Tree), and then our events this coming week in Qld: @avidreader on May 10th (Mother’s Day!) in conversation with Margaret Gibson and then on May 12th in Maleny for @outspoken_maleny. Thank you to all who have made contact with us at this tricky time. From #thesaltydiaries2022, via #borderswithoutborders and #bwb2023 and onto #howtodressforoldage Loretta (CN Retired) made her presence felt. Part kith, part kin, part sage, part style icon, her absence is almost unbearable, especially through these early days as we struggle with sudden loss and strange silence and the lack of a four legged alarm clock. If you’ve known the friendship of a small brown dog then you too are most fortunate. Vale Loretta Leonie! p.s. she never approved of this signage due to the missing apostrophe and we are very tempted to make a nocturnal punctuation intervention in her honour. by @lorettaleonie

It’s not often you can say you have the #2 Bestselling title in Gerontology!!! This is on (the dreaded) Amaz*n, where How to Dress for Old Age is available as an e-book, and @jennyvalentish_public has left a very nice review. Can we make it to #1?? We’ve had lots of lovely notes from readers and some very nice capsule reviews in The Age and The Guardian, but our most lengthy and in-depth review to date has come from Susan Midalia at @lanebookshop.
