12-year-old me — drawing makeup collections well beyond my bedtime and dreaming up beauty worlds in my head — would be absolutely DYING if she knew this would become my actual job. 🥹✨

For more than a decade, I’ve built a career around beauty, brands, creators, culture and the kind of experiences I used to only dream about.

But this didn’t happen overnight. There were a LOT of years of hustle as a junior — sweating every detail, doing the grunt work, saying yes to everything, proving myself and wondering if all that work would eventually lead somewhere.

And then you have a moment like this at a masterclass with Marc Jacobs himself and a room full of influential industry creators and realize… THIS is where it led.

The wildest part? This isn’t even a hobby. This is literally my JOB!

There are moments in your career that feel bigger than a job — they remind you of every version of yourself that got you here.

This was one of those pinch-me, career-defining, full-circle moments.

12-year-old me is dying. Junior-career me is VERY proud. And current me is still like… how is this my life?! 🌼 💄 🌼 by @lorigilis

2024 Event Season is well underway and last Saturday, my team and I had the pleasure to host a table for some of Coty Canada’s content creator partners at the glam and fab @cafawards. It was a night of pure fashion artistry and visual opulence celebrating some of the most innovative minds in Canadian fashion. 12 year old me, who stayed up WAY past her bedtime drawing makeup collections and face charts, has had another career bucket list fulfilled by spending a full day in COVERGIRL’s lipstick lab, learning how lipsticks are made, all for the launch of our 24 shade collection of Clean Lip Color on #nationalipstickday. I had some beautiful company with the one and only @glamzilla ⭐️ and some other amazing creators, all immersing in the art and science of lipstick creation, led by our industry-leading scientists and product developers. It was fascinating to see how the business of makeup stems from idea, to prototype, to final product all in the palm of our hands. My nerdy self is so fulfilled and thankful. #colormadebetter @covergirl 💄 💋 by @lorigilis

They took a chance on someone with ZERO on screen experience and gave me a whole new set of skills I’ll be grateful for always. The warmth you felt watching @cityline was the same warmth you felt being behind the scenes and working with such a talented group of people was a privilege. @candicebatista @tiffycrawfy @noahaquino @sandy_chronopoulos and more… thank you 💜!

I was able to bring my love and enthusiasm for my beloved COTY brands and products (hello, viral @COVERGIRL Skin Perfector Essence) and share them with Canadians to show them that beauty makes you feel good, can be fun, and most importantly, accessible for all.

@thetracymoore I’ll always be in awe of your poise and ability to make everyone feel like they are part of your family. Thank you for letting me swatch all the lipsticks on you, fit you with press-on nails and spray all the scents, sometimes more than one! It’s been an honour and a pleasure to have spent 5 segments with you and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you! by @lorigilis
