20/30 CHALLENGE 🎉 popping this on here for accountability — who’s gonna try with me?! Gotta be honest, this will be an ambitious one: two kids, juggling two studios, a dog, and teaching 14+ hrs… but why not!?! 😬 even if you’re at a different studio, creating routine, discipline, pushing through plateaus, taking active recovery…I’m on holiday back home to NZ so I won’t be at Upstate to do the whole challenge, but I’ll be heading into the awesome studios in Auckland to hopefully get 20 classes across the line!!

on that note — kiwis, any recommendations for studios I must try in Auckland?! Reformer, Hot Mat & Yoga…all welcome!

If you’re in Sydney, lemme know if you wanna come with me to an Upstate class in either Five Dock or Newtown to try it out! 🙌🏻

I cannot believe I’m where I am today, knowing how I started, what I’ve done, and where I’ve been to get here.

one year ago, almost to the day, I taught my very. first. pilates. class. I can’t believe it’s ALREADY been a year…but I also can’t believe it’s ONLY been a year…😅

I now can’t remember life before teaching Pilates — it’s been the most fulfilling, challenging, creative & fun thing I’ve been paid to do (I still can’t believe it’s my JOB!) and I’ve become a happier, better, fitter & stronger person because of it. Most of all, the fact I can work almost full time & still be around for my children has been an absolute dream of a reality ✨

And of course, I literally wouldn’t be here without @upstate_studios… as dramatic as it sounds, it’s absolutely true… my world is now painted yellow 💛 & I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙌🏻😘

happy one year anniversary to my Pilates Instructor self…I love her & who she’s becoming 🙌🏻🤣🥹 here’s to wishing many happy & healthy years ahead!

the video that was posted on the wrong account, went viral on the wrong account, and ruined that account’s chance of ever making it back to the right niche (which was Pilates 😂)…it should have been posted here on my personal (now public😅🙈) account 😬😋

if you know me at all, I’m ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of birds, and they really don’t like me. I have many many stories 🙈 think my fear was contagious & now my kids are scared of them too. this was me, after letting 6 groups of people go in front of me, trying to look excited about having this MASSIVE bird claw around my head 😩 here’s to doing things for your kids for their sake…DEFINITELY not for mine 😵‍💫😜

if I’m not doing Pilates on International Pilates Day, am I EVEN an instructor & pilates lover?! 🙈🤭 no studio, no problem — you could do mat ANYWHERE & turns out, my beautiful @july carry-on performs just perfectly with a luggage weight of a blue spring resistance 😝

she was in there🤰🏻& then she was here 👩🏻‍🍼…it couldn’t have been five years, but it has been, & while I can wish all I want for the time to slow down, the effort will be futile 🥹 she’s become my best little buddy, & my biggest fan - one who is the reason for wanting to be better and stronger every single day…I don’t know when the idolising will stop so gotta step it up & show her what her mama is made of 🤣

I have so much to be grateful for, despite my 🏍️ accident on my last day in the Philippines 🇵🇭🥹 I could get quite philosophical about the impact this accident had on me but let’s keep it simple for the gram 🤣

…and I’m doing it all over again next week 🙈😬

first day in Cebu City, Philippines 🇵🇭 & travelling solo for the first time in 7 years…leaving the kids & hubby in Sydney wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I missed them, worried about them, then missed them some more. my 2.5yo son started talking in my absence & that hurt more than I’d realised.
but…despite all that, this time alone was super important because I realised I’d forgotten how to do things for me. I’d forgotten what I’d liked to do when I had all the time & attention to myself. I didn’t know how to be comfortable with the quiet…& it’s ironic that that’s all I’d wanted for so long!

I see so much content on here, encouraging people to be brave enough to “do things alone”, and I couldn’t agree more…one day, you may not even HAVE the choice or the luxury to just do things on a whim and just think of yourself. so when I get this incredible privilege to do things alone because I have the support of a partner who knows the importance of being myself outside of motherhood, my work…and in this case, trying to rediscover what I am like alone in another country after becoming a mum…I definitely feel like I’ve hit the jackpot! 😬😅

I’ve also realised how efficient & productive I’ve gotten since kids…I packed in so much in a 9hr day in Cebu City…travelling solo is the easiest thing ever after travelling with kids! 🤣😅🙈 and got very friendly with my tripod 😝

i still can’t believe i’m gonna be a Pilates instructor 😅 i could imagine being a yoga teacher but not sure why not Pilates…ANYWAY, i am now!! 😅😂 I’m excited to go back to some sort of work after 5 years of being mostly a SAHM, & building a career in an industry with huge potential if I want to grow in this world…let’s see where this takes me 🙌🏻 the fact that i can wear athleisure wear to work is so fun 😂
