“Baptism is an outward testimony of an inward transformation.”

December 15 of 2024, my momma made the decision to get baptized!
The Lord, of course, has been working in my home long before this past year…
Over four years ago, I made the decision to publicly express my newfound love for Jesus and be baptized on September 27, 2020.
I am incredibly grateful to see how the Lord has used my faith—small as a mustard seed—to move in ways far greater than I could have imagined (Matthew 17:20).

In this video, you will see both mine and my momma’s baptism, over four years apart, put together to highlight the connection between our spiritual journeys. Though we found this path at different times, the video emphasizes the shared faith that brought us to today. A celebration of our individual commitments to Christ and the bond that unites us in our faith as mother and daughter.

To my Mom:
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been two years since we lost Pops. Although he is no longer here with us, I imagined him sitting front row with overwhelming peace and joy as you took this step. Peace and joy in knowing that because of your faith in Christ, you will be okay without him here. I hope you know I’m proud of you.
Pops is too.

People are more transformed by the love of God that calls them higher than by shame that only reminds them where they fall short.

I think true conviction happens when people encounter the heart of God- not just the weight of their sin.

I took my little sister out for a sister day to celebrate her first day of spring break. We were on our way to get coffee and spend time in a Bible study together when she grabbed my lip gloss and started using it without asking, pulling it away every time I tried to take it back.

Once I finally got it back, I talked to her about the importance of asking and waiting for permission, and about listening when someone is clearly telling you to stop. I explained that it’s rude to laugh and keep pulling away when something doesn’t belong to you, especially when you didn’t ask in the first place. I barely had any left in the tube, and it’s not cheap (it’s rhode). Still, I told her she could use it, and that I would even help her put it on, even though I was upset.

We went inside, ordered our drinks, and sat down to start our “big girl” devotional. I knew I would have to slow it down and simplify things so she could understand, since this was my personal devotional meant for more developed minds. As we read, we came across words like righteous, obedient, surrender, mercy, grace, authority, even phrases like “pangs of Sheol.”

We paused often to talk through what those meant, and she kept going back to what happened in the car, trying to connect it to what we were learning. In that moment, I was reminded of what childlike faith really looks like.

Asking, listening, surrendering- those little moments were her way of understanding what obedience really looks like.

Grace still being given after doing wrong- even after she took it and didn’t listen, I still let her use it. I even helped her put it on.

Submitting and serving as we were created to- she laid down her own understanding to learn, and I met her there by serving her, even in something as small as helping her put on lip gloss.

God used something small, something frustrating, to teach something bigger. It made me realize how often He’s doing that in our lives, and how easy it is to overlook it if we’re not paying attention. I’m in awe. taken in Way Station Coffee Co. by @lorraine.424

48 days ago, I flew home with FCA Global Impact from the most beautiful country I have had the opportunity to do ministry in so far.
Simply walking through the airport and coming across the heaping crowds of people, eagerly waiting for their loved ones to return home, took hold of my heart.
From the joyous kids I got to spend my days in the ministry with to my brothers and sisters in Christ, who in the course of just one month, and some even less, truly became family. Every detail of what Guatemala was for me has a special place in my heart.
I will be returning to this incredible country in just eighteen days, this time for three months with New Hope Global!
New Hope Global Ministries is based in of San Antonio, Guatemala and is one of the churches I attended in June with FCA Global Impact Guatemala.
I have already raised $1381 of the $5000 that I am supposed to have before departing, please pray and consider supporting me in this coming chapter of my life in ministry!
