I went to see an exhibition called Street Life by Richard Braine at the Muse Gallery in Portobello Road.

The pictures were taken in the 70's. It showed a lot of poverty that as a teenager I would have been surrounded by in the East End. I never noticed.

After the Exhibition I decided to do a photowalk.

A few weeks ago I dropped my 50mm lens and damaged it. It no longer worked with my camera.

I didn’t want to waste it. I asked Googe if I could repurpose it. I discovered that I could.

I had to get a reversing ring to put the lens on back to front which converted the lens to a macro lens.

These are my first attempts. Focusing was a challenge, but I actually like that they are not sharp as it fits with my love for abstract art.

I will continue to practice with the lens but will be leaning into the abstract nature of the pictures it takes.

Today with @mindfulphotolab we had a really interesting session today at @poplarunion today on board the narrow boat Jena.

We were asked to take photos of the stall holders and local people in Cotall Market located at @poplarunion.

Some really interesting photos taken. All photos were used to create a Pan African Flag.

I decided to have a leisurely photowalk in Stratford by not walking at all.

I sat on the stairs which leads to Westfield and focused on people watching. It was certainly an eye opener for me as I tend to walk to the station unconsciously.

This time I noticed what people were doing, how they interacted with each other and the space around the station and Westfield

Sitting at an elevated height with my 55 - 200mm lens helped me to see much further without moving.

The first picture is of someone sitting next to me who asked me to take his picture.

I was at @poplarunion today with my Arts and Crafts & Photography group @mindfulphotolab on a Narrow Boat called Jena.

We were tasked to take photos of the canal and Jena.

I noticed that the canal looked different depending on where I stood.

At Chrisp Street Market yesterday practicing with my new 55 - 200mm lens. Having more success with it than the day before.

The market stalls were pretty busy as people went about their day shopping.

Really enjoyable collage session @poplarunion today on a Narrow Boat called Jena.

The inspiration for the collage was my visit in the week to the Music is Black exhibition @vam_east

There was a large group of us each working on our own expressions of that visit.

I stayed local in Canning Town today taking random shots to test a new lens I just bought.

The lens is 55 - 200mm and is different from the other lenses I have. Working on getting sharp pictures. It took quite a few attempts before I was able to take reasonably sharp pictures. It doesn't help that I find the viewfinder too small to see properly.

I will keep practicing.

I went to see Music is Black @vam_east with my group from @mindfulphotolab. Fabulous exhibition. It charts how music in this country has been heavily influenced by all Genres of Black music for many, many years.

I had more than a few moments of being taken down memory lane. You are given a headset which is targeted to play music depending on where you are in the exhibition.

It it huge and well worth a visit. Allow yourself a few hours.
