Miro Top version 2✨️

Today is the launching day for the #mirotop by the amazing @suechinglascelles 🎉🎉Congratulations!!

Lucky me got to test this beautiful pattern, I loved it so much that I made two!🤩 This is the second version. If you want to see the first one, check my previous post.

This is a great pattern for a confident beginner. I had no issues with the pattern and the instructions are great.

Go check out all the wonderful and creative versions from the other testers!🌈❤️

I made mine in a light linen blend fabric( I believe) that I got from @gingertwiststudio in Edinburgh this spring and I have worn it a lot already. By the way - this store might be the most fun I have ever been to. They had both gorgeous yarn and fabrics👌✨️

SEW BOLD 2026 ✨

What better way to enter the challenge #SewBold2026 than with a pattern test?
This is my first Miro Top from @suechinglascelles

Because apparently one wasn’t enough, I made two.
I really enjoyed testing this one. It’s a wrap top that is so easy to wear. The look of it changes with the fabric.

The pattern is launching tomorrow I’ll be back with my second version then. 👀

But today is all about Sew Bold 2026.

I made this one in (for me) a very bold apple green colour and a little dramatic cotton crepe fabric. Even the bias binding is bold!
We all need a challenge like this to step outside our comfort zone, don’t you think? Thank you @whatbecsews for a great challenge, and happy Birthday🎉

And a big thank you to the amazing and colorful @suechinglescalles for letting me test the Miro Top. ❤️

I can’t believe I’ve made my very first plushies! 🥹🧶💕

Meet my Leggy Frog 🐸 and my little Octopus 🐙 They are my first amigurumi plushies, and I’m SO happy with how they turned out!

Both patterns are simple, beginner-friendly designs, which made them perfect for taking that first step into making plushies. And honestly… I love them! 😍

I have been crocheting for many years now, but never made a plushie before. Sometimes simple patterns are exactly what you need to get startet on something new.

Hook: 6 mm for the frog & 5.5 mm for the octopus

Forever 💐

We don't have any living flowers at home, instead we have a huge amount of @lego flowers! (I promise I'll show you all of them one day 🩷). And what better way to decorate with the flowers, than a crochet mandala?

This one definitely challenged me… but in the best way ✂️ ❤️

Entering the challenge #sewaprilblouse26 hosted by @cloth_edit and @sewn_on_the_tyne has been such a great opportunity to learn new skills, especially choosing a pattern with features I hadn’t tried before.

This is the #marnieblouse designed by @tillybuttons made from a viscose fabric from @selfmade_com

Mistakes🍋🤪✨️
I’m not quite sure what happened when cutting the fabric, but the front pieces ended up 4 cm longer than the back pieces. I managed to fix it by gently stretching the fabric while sewing and trimming off the excess. Luckily, the blouse is still long enough – very happy about that.

The two back yoke pieces shifted a bit when I attached the back panel, leaving a slightly bigger gap than the pattern intended. I don’t mind it at all though (you even get a little sneak peek of my back tattoo).

Choices⚖️🍒
You can choose to add beautiful pintucks on the front yoke and sleeves. I omitted those because my lightweight fabric moved around too much. I was happy enough managing the ruffles on the shoulders and especially the neckline. Next time I will choose a little more structured fabric to make the pintucks.

What I’ve learned💡🤔
That I absolutely love to sew. It’s such a fantastic feeling to finish a garment you can actually wear and be proud of.

Learning new skills can be frustrating at times, but also very rewarding. The seam ripper is my best friend! Unpicking seams and trying again is just part of the process. The same goes for frogging in crochet or knitting. It’s simply how it works.

Result📍😄
I adore the final result! I’ve already worn it to lunch with friends, felt amazing in it, and received so many compliments. It feels so good to say: “I made it myself.” ✂️🤍

This little cardigan is made with so much love❤️My niece’s baby is getting this as the last handmade Christmas gift of the year, and it feels like such a beautiful way to round off a creative season.

I didn’t follow a pattern for this one. The cardigan is made from two crocheted hexagons, sewn together, with knitted edges at the neckline, sleeves and hem. It closes with simple ties, so the baby can grow with it and wear it a little longer💕

As the year comes to an end, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄 I hope your holidays are filled with calm moments, warmth, and maybe a little extra time to enjoy some handcrafting.

I’ll be spending my days off continuing to learn how to sew, and I’m so excited to celebrate Christmas wearing a dress I’ve sewn myself😄🎅

I just finished knitting a very special gift, a sweater for my dear friend’s 50th birthday🥳🥳

It’s the #desemberskoggenser , beautifully designed by @vivioggutta, and I made it using the warm and lovely Fivel yarn from @raumagarn perfect for the season.

There’s something extra meaningful about creating a handmade piece for someone you care about, stitch by stitch, thinking of the person who will wear it. 💛🧶
