See, what some people don’t know is that just a few months ago, this very opportunity was almost taken away from you.

You missed summer workouts, early practices, and valuable time with your teammates. Time you couldn’t get back. While other players were preparing for their season, my son was facing uncertainty about whether he’d even get the chance to play.

And Momma? I had to MOVE mountains. Literally. I had to secure a home within the same school zone so I could get my baby re-enrolled and back where he belonged. He couldn’t become eligible until we were officially in our home.

But here’s the thing about GOD… what He has ordained, no man can cancel! 🙌🏽

Pun knew he was behind. He knew he had ground to make up. And instead of making excuses, he went to WORK. He showed up. He stayed focused. He led by example. He earned the honor of walking out for coin tosses as a JV team leader. He made tremendous plays, demonstrated leadership on AND off the field, and continued proving why he deserved to be there.

And this week? GOD SAID, IT’S TIME. 🥹

My baby made his VARSITY DEBUT under those Friday night lights, as a SOPHOMORE!

I don’t take moments like this lightly because I know the sacrifices, the prayers, the tears, and the battles behind the scenes. I know what it took to get us here.

Pun, I hope you NEVER forget this season of your life. Not just because you made varsity mid season, but because of what it took to get there. Let this be a reminder that adversity doesn’t determine your destination. Your discipline, your character, your faith, and your willingness to keep going will carry you further than you can imagine.

Stay humble. Stay hungry. Keep leading. Keep working. And ALWAYS give God the glory. Your gifts will make room for you, son.

I’m proud of the athlete you’re becoming, but even more proud of the young MAN you’re growing into.

They may have interrupted your preparation, but they couldn’t cancel your PURPOSE. 🙌🏽

I love you beyond words, Pun.
Momma will forever be your loudest cheerleader, your biggest advocate, and your safest place to land.

But don’t let the beautiful moments fool you—this journey isn’t all sunshine and butterflies.

Some days I still feel like I’m drowning, even when life looks beautiful from the outside.

I moved to Texas believing this would be our fresh start. A chance for my children and me to breathe, rebuild, and finally enjoy the life I fought so hard to create.

And somehow, this new beginning came with another unexpected legal battle—this time involving my now 16-year-old son.

I’ve spent his entire life showing up for him, sacrificing for him, protecting him, and making sure he has what he needs to succeed. So while I may be in my softer era, understand that softness has NEVER meant weakness.

One thing about me: I DON’T RUN FROM BATTLES WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN. I PREPARE FOR THEM.

So yes, you’ll still see me at the pool chasing behind a busy toddler. You’ll see me laughing, traveling, making memories, getting dressed up, enjoying my new home and finding reasons to smile.

Because I’ve learned that I don’t have to stop living just because life gets hard.

I can be present for my daughter while handling everything necessary for my son.

I can protect my peace while protecting my children.

I can be soft AND strong.

And BOTH of my children will always have a mother who shows up. 💕

God didn’t bring me this far to leave me now. Every season that was supposed to break me taught me how to rebuild.

I’m equipped. I’m covered. And I’m prepared for whatever comes next.

Because if there’s ONE thing anyone who knows me can tell you…

Everything I say I’ma do, I DO.

So no, starting over wasn’t the end of my story.

It was the beginning of a calmer nervous system, higher standards, a softer life, a stronger woman—and a version of me who can weather the storms without forgetting to enjoy the sunshine. 🤍🦋✨ by @lotsofjennie

16 years of you!
Son, I’m so proud of you!
You continue to excel! Seeing your determination, your discipline, and your leadership on and off the field has been nothing short of amazing.
Since you were little, I’ve spoken so many things into you — to always respect yourself and others, especially women; to do the right thing even when nobody is watching; to never be ashamed of your emotions or asking for help; to treat people with kindness and respect regardless of what they can do for you; and to understand that becoming a good man isn’t about your age, but about the choices you make and the character you carry.
Now that you’re 16, I pray you’re mature enough to not just hear those lessons, but live by them.
I hope every day you are reminded of how loved you are and how blessed you are, man. There is truly no greater feeling than watching you grow into the young man you are becoming.
And for that, I’ll continue making all of the sacrifices necessary!
I can’t put into words what it feels like to be your Mom. When they ask, “Which one is your son?” or “Is that your son?” - I proudly say YES. Cause what!?
When your teachers tell me how well-mannered, respectful, disciplined, and mature my son is — those moments mean more to me than you will ever understand.

I hope you always understand that whatever legacy you build in this life, a piece of that legacy will forever be tied to your Momma.

Sixteen years ago, I was so unsure of myself. If I knew then what I know now, I would have had no fear. Today, there is an unwavering feeling in me that you are divinely protected, covered, and blessed. I have watched God carry you through things that could have easily distracted you, but instead, you kept going.

Keep God first. Keep your heart right. Keep your word. Stand on your principles. Lead with integrity. Treat people well. Take accountability. And never allow this world or the brokenness of the people in your life to change the good in you.
16 years of loving you.
16 years of watching you become the young man i prayed you would be…

Today, she is finally on her way to Summer Daycare like a big girl. Another milestone with my girl💕

God, I place her in Your loving hands. Watch over her, protect her, and surround her with kindness, patience, and love.
Give her confidence as she explores a new place, courage when she feels unsure, and joy as she learns, plays, and makes new friends. Comfort her heart if she misses me, and remind her that she is never alone because You are always with her.

Bless her teachers and caregivers with wisdom, compassion, and attentiveness. Keep her safe, healthy, and happy throughout the day.

Lord, calm my heart as her mother. Help me trust that You are caring for her even when I cannot be by her side. Thank You for the gift of watching her grow into the beautiful little girl You created her to be.

May she always know how deeply she is loved—by Me and by You.
