It was my privelige to host Kato-San, Iwahashi-San and Nakazawa-San from Soulnote. We discussed at length the incoming newly revised 2 series and other exciting new projects for next year. Chief designer Hideki Kato was able to experience his equipment in the Lotus demonstration room and I think he was definitely impressed with the synergy with Joseph loudspeakers. We hope to make an equivalent visit to Tokyo next year to tour the factory with UK partners Kog Audio. Great times ahead … by @lotus_hifi
This weekend it was my great pleasure to host the World Premier of one of the most ambitious projects ever to come from Tidal Audio, the new AP1 amplified loudspeaker. Lotus Hifi is extremely proud and excited to take delivery of the very first pair to leave the Tidal factory in Köln, Germany. My sincere thanks goes to our UK partner Fraser Robertson from Airt Audio, and of course Tidal Audio M.D. Jörn Janczak; please never stop creating these amazing new masterpieces which challenge and develop the very boundaries of our industry. The AP1 for me represents a new chapter in the development of the ultra High End sector. Simply connect the single box Contros music controller for a complete single box system, or indeed the output from any preamplifier/DAC of choice. Born out of the extensive research and creativity from the Tidal for Bugatti project, AP1 offers the music lover the very highest degree of loudspeaker and amplification ability coupled with new levels of convenience and space saving, but at a price which almost makes a mockery of the financial pricing trends currently seen in high end audio. The tides are perhaps now turning ? Let’s hope other similar products soon emerge to help disrupt the current trajectory of ever increasing ‘pie in the sky’ prices in this great hobby of ours. by @lotus_hifi
It was recently my great privilege to get up close and personal with the @tidal.audio Bugatti Royale loudspeakers and MC-1 controller, along with Jorn and Miriam from Tidal and our partner Fraser from Airt Audio at Aspreys of London. The Bugatti series is positioned even higher than the Tidal line, in sonics, craftsmanship, build and finish. Inside just a fairly brief encounter it certainly bears that out in no uncertain terms. More to come very soon on this incredible single box system. @aspreylondon @bugatti by @lotus_hifi
In October we hosted our second customer open day event of 2026, showcasing the new Piano Classic loudspeakers from TIDAL Audio. It was a pleasure to catch up with so many customers and also see them connect with eachother. Thanks goes to the whole of the Lotus team for all their help and of course to the team at TIDAL for creating such wonderful products. We will be running many more interesting events in 2027. "Thanks for the hospitality. I was in a trance the whole way home thinking about it. Room and system is outstanding. Key takeaways: soundstage is massive esp. tall and deep. Everything is very ‘immediate’. Insane amounts of body. Decay was fabulous. And it unravelled some very complex passages in ways I haven’t heard." Stephen L by @lotus_hifi
What about the customer who wants a very compact system with low real estate requirement, but hankers after something more extensive than a one box Integrated amplifier ? The new highly innovative Evolution series from Thrax Audio propels us into the future of micro systems. Cotys phonostage, Janus Dac/Preamp and D-mono miniature monoblock amplifiers. The evolution Streamer and optional Titan battery supply are also due soon. Pictured here with the Thrax Sirens standmounts. We are currently running everything in, performance is off the dial. by @lotus_hifi
It's almost time to unleash the TIDAL Piano Classics. This Sunday 18th. A new £28,500 entry point for TIDAL goodness. by @lotus_hifi
Magical component matching. Soulnote D2 V2 Dac, Thrax Enyo vacuum tube Integrated, Joseph Audio Perspective II Graphene. by @lotus_hifi
With so much recent advancement in DAC converters, Streamers, interconnects and home Network cleaning, how close now is digital to vinyl ? Does the old adage that Vinyl sounds better still apply ? At what price points for each will you achieve parity in terms of sound quality ? And what about the bookends ? Does an inexpensive DAC/streamer of just a few thousand pounds need a far more expensive Turntable/MC and phono to match it ? And then at the very highest level, is there a vinyl setup that can truly rival the Wadax Atlantis reference digital ? by @lotus_hifi
There are just a few remaining spaces for our open day on Sunday 18th October which will feature the new TIDAL Piano Classic loudspeakers - all the pure magic of TIDAL now at the much lower cost of £28,500. It is set to be an informal fun day with plenty of social and featuring the Contros Streamer/Dac/Pre into Intra power amplifier. Get in touch to book your space. by @lotus_hifi
We have been quietly selling these for over a year now, and now with more orders on the way it's time to finally welcome SUPATRAC formerly to Lotus Hifi and the website portfolio. There is a lot of hype in High End audio. When a new brand or product arrives accompanied by an inordinate amount of excitement – particularly when that effervescence is amplified by a generous dose of marketing – our instinct is usually to approach with caution. Very occasionally, however, something comes along that not only justifies the attention, but actually exceeds expectations. Richard Braine used a whole new lens to look at the intricate problem of playing a piece of plastic. The result is some of the most genuinely innovative tonearms we have ever encountered and as high performing as anything else out there in the industry, regardless of price. More in the news section of the Lotus website. by @lotus_hifi
Name your poison. Soulnote A3. Thrax Ares mk3. Vitus RI-101 mk2. by @lotus_hifi
We are never too far away from the next Thrax Yatrus turntable install. Its combination of a compact footprint, its fast dynamic and vivid persona, and true fit and forget ergonomics makes it a highly popular choice. The Schroeder CB tonearm has its setup idiosyncrasies but is a superb performer at the price with a natural and effortless presentation. Few decks sound this alive. The short 9" arm length suits it so well. by @lotus_hifi
