Geumjul Sisters
26.4.28.
Louie Zalk-Neale × Eunsun Heo
@louiemole @lotuseater___

Together with the audience, we peeled the surface of tī kōuka leaves to make fibers, then twisted those fibers into a geumjul, a sacred rope connecting our heads to one another.

Bound together by the geumjul - woven as protection against the outside world - we sang a Māori song.

Kia tīna! Tīna! Hui e! Tāiki e!
