We are still swimming through the love, support and community shared at Skinny Dipping with LOUD BODIES last week.

During a time of endless uncertainty for the arts, it is moments like these that remind us how important it is that we keep moving forward. We now learn to shift- leaning on one another and investing everything we can back into our own communities. We are all we have.💜

Thank you endlessly to @hotcrowd and @littlefirelittlefire for helping us celebrate small, independent dance companies and collectives. We cannot wait to cheer each other on and lift each other up as we continue to keep dance alive. ♥️THANK YOU ♥️

Umfundalai (MA-FOON-DAH-LAH), meaning “essential” in Kiswahili, is a contemporary Pan-African dance technique that draws from traditional African dance, modern, and diasporic movement practices. This introductory class centers on foundational vocabulary, grounded movement, and rhythmic connection to the earth, while honoring the body as a site of power, agency, and cultural memory. This class is an affirming space where all bodies and identities are welcomed and celebrated. Expect an embodied experience that honors tradition while inviting personal truth, joy, and liberation into the movement. Whether you’re new to dance or returning to the floor, this class invites you to move with curiosity, courage, and community. ♥️
