Friday 13th March 2026… Today is exactly 6 years since my last day working in an office in full time employment at a record label in London, to do it on my own and start @loudcatsocial 😮‍💨… So many of you have been here since WAY before then and I’m so so thankful for you all sticking with me 🥹

Officially I left my full time job in music on 27th March 2020 but due to the world shutting down and being very unwell because of *the thing that shall not be named* the last 2 weeks were a complete blur of minimal work (not through lack of trying) + hot & cold sweats. I caught *it* on my impromptu leaving night out… Not ideal hey 🦠

So much has changed in my life - mostly for the better, but it certainly hasn’t always seemed that way, it’s been tumultuous to say the least 😅 Some days I’m surviving and others I’m thriving, but one thing is for sure - I’m glad to be doing it in Brighton. Without a doubt the best city to live - on this chunk of land in the sea 🫶🏻

Tonight I sipped Prosecco on a rooftop watching the sunset, along with a handful of other wonderful Brighton sole traders & small business owners - to celebrate 10 years of @citygirlnetwork @brightongirlnetwork (and the woman that is @pippacitygirl) - a community (& woman) that has changed my life since moving back here 🥂 cheers!

Happy 5th birthday @loudcatsocial 💜 celebrating with a v rare occasion when we managed to get the full fest crew together on Saturday 🥰

Feels like such a full circle moment celebrating another year with my one woman business (as talent manager, content creator, and influencer marketing consultant / strategist) at the place where so much of it began: Reading Festival ✨

I first went for a day when I was a kid with my friend, and her mum - and my love of festivals (esp. Reading) started!

Then in 2014 it was my first hands on intro to the world of influencers collaborating with festivals on site - the first of 3 years I did in a row working with the festival’s PR agency over the Aug bank hol weekends in the press tent / accreditation office!

Each year I wonder if I’ll make it to the next, after leaving full time employment at a major label in 2020 juuust as the world shut down 🫠 it’s not been easy, and there are never ending challenges… But for now the fact I’ve done my own thing for half a decade, feels like an achievement worth celebrating 🥳 (with a lotta thanks to the support from my family, friends, and the talent I work with).

Reading festival 2025 - you were wonderful, one of the best years ever! What a way to end festival season, thank you so much for having us ❤️

I CAME THIRD in @brightongirlnetwork awards ‘Creative of the Year’ last week ✨🥉 (this is not an April Fools 🤪)! Thanks to all who nominated & voted for me! This is the first time I’ve been to an awards evening where I was in the running as a potential winner, and it felt quite surreal 🥹💜

I went with 2 friends from secondary school who were each nominated in their categories too (both in the swipe & @cielocakery won wedding service of the year!) which was v special. We were each nominated out of thousands to make it into the top 10 long list, then voted from that into the top 5 - love that for us 🥰

On the night the winner was the super talented @aflo.thepoet (sad we didn’t get a pic) & second was the funny musical babe @itsaliceella (in the swipe) 💕 both happen to be friends that I’ve known separately for between 10-15 years? So lovely!

BTW (as this a collab post with 2 of my other accounts and you may be wondering why), I was also in the 10 in 3 (!) other categories, so if you’re looking to work with a gal who can do all kinds of things, hiii 👋🏻

Exactly 5 years ago I left my full time job after 3.5 years at a major record label in London to go freelance, and start my company @loudcatsocial (named after my son @littleludes) 💜

It was 27th March 2020, after 6pm - I was at home in bed. Ugly crying - sad to be leaving what I thought was my dream job to go it alone! Frankly I never really fit in, and found a lot of the dynamics tough to navigate. I was an elder emo millennial, who had first started in the music industry in my mid 20s (much later than many of my colleagues), and I also didn’t know I was neurodivergent (something abundantly clear now lol). I found it hard in many ways & it affected my mental health a lot, I was exhausted - so going freelance felt like a positive change!

I was also mid recovering from being the most unwell I’ve ever been, as the week prior I had c0vid (riiight at the start, caught it around my last day in the office on Friday 13th I think!), my uncle passed away, and it was also my aunties birthday - but like the rest of the UK, I couldn’t travel to see family, and that was tough.

Fast forward to now - half a decade (!) later: still freelance, my company still going: managing creators, consulting brands, coordinating campaigns, and creating content myself for fun & for work, as an ‘influencer’… And living back in my hometown, with my mum, near my auntie, and getting ready to go to an awards eve tonight!

It’s the @brightongirlnetwork awards, and I’m a top 5 finalist in the “Brighton Creative of the Year” category! Who knows if I’ll win, but it’s an honour to be a finalist - amongst thousands of votes 🥰

I know that 27th March is a date I’ll always remember for big life changes, and family stuff, and now: my first awards show I’m attending where I’m a finalist… Life’s funny hey!

What a way to celebrate how far I’ve come, with a bitta nostalgia, romanticising life, and excitement for a fun eve ahead… Accompanied by some excellent new head shots 💁🏻‍♀️
