LOVE BITES ROC 🍴➡️ BUF

Buffalo is finally back in the playoffs, so we had to make a pregame stop at Ballyhoo before Tuesday night’s game. The result? We don’t need to talk about it. The vibes before puck drop though? Elite.

Packed with fans in every era of Sabres colors — blue and gold, black and red, and everything in between — Ballyhoo felt like peak Buffalo. Sunshine on the patio, a packed bar, and playoff energy everywhere. We came ready for ponies, but the mini Miller High Lifes were gone… so Genesee Cream Ales stepped in and got the job done.

Now for the food. Ballyhoo’s house-made sausages absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the TJ Dawg — chorizo pork & bacon loaded with pico, crema, cotija, and avocado — plus two specials: a plain butter dog and a butter dog topped with their homemade chili and cheese. Every single one hit. Bold flavors, perfectly grilled buns, and the kind of food that almost made us forget there was a game to get to.

Ballyhoo is one of those places that just gets Buffalo — fun, full of character, and exactly where you want to be before the game.

Pulled up to Dave’s Hot Chicken like we were ready for battle… and then absolutely backed down. 😂

We were this close to ordering spicy, but our inner voices said, “Let’s not ruin our day.” So we got plain with the Dave’s sauce on the side — because we are, in fact, delicate.

But honestly?? Even plain was:
🔥 crispy
🔥 juicy
🔥 zero regrets
And that Dave’s sauce?? Put it in a squeeze packet necklace, we will wear it with pride.

We will be returning to climb the heat ladder because our dignity is on the line.

Tucked away in a tiny hole-in-the-wall in Portland, we found Matcha Mood—and wow did it deliver.

We shared:
✨ Vietnamese coffee topped with creamy matcha foam (hello, perfect balance of bitter + earthy)
✨ A cozy matcha chai (spiced + smooth)
✨ And because we couldn’t resist… a Biscoff croffle to split 🤤 buttery, flaky, and cookie-crunchy in all the right ways.

If you’re wandering Portland, this little shop is worth the stop. Small space, big flavor, matcha magic. 💫

🦞 First bite back in Portland? You know we had to kick things off at @highrollerlobsterco — one of our forever favorites.

We both went all in on the lobster grilled cheese (loaded with butter, obviously) and shared a basket of crispy fries with garlic aioli and curry ketchup for dipping 🍟🔥

This was our very first stop on night one in Portland last week — and honestly, it set the bar high. Fresh seafood, bold flavors, retro vibes… what more could you ask for?

🌭 Happy National Hot Dog Day from Portland, Maine!

We made our way to one of our all-time favorites, @thirstypigporkland, where the hot dogs are always worth the trip.

I went classic with the German Dog: spicy mustard, sauerkraut, and pretzel bits baked right on top for that perfect salty crunch 🥨

Jared took it to the next level with the Viking: bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, Thai aioli, and BBQ sauce 🔥

And don’t sleep on the homemade pickles — crisp, tangy, and totally crave-worthy. 🥒

Every time we’re in Portland, we make it a point to stop here — and if you haven’t been, consider this your sign.

Ten years ago, Jared and I got engaged on Keuka Lake—and this last week, we finally made it back.

To celebrate, we snuck away for a date night at Snug Harbor, just the two of us, to reminisce and soak in the memories. 💍🌊

The view was as beautiful as we remembered, and the food—hot honey flatbread, garlic fries, steak, and an ahi tuna sandwich—was just as unforgettable. A perfect night to toast to ten sweet, chaotic, love-filled years. ❤️

Just got back from an incredible week away at Keuka Lake 🌊🍷 We hit up so many great spots throughout the week, but wrapped up our last full day with a visit to @steubenbrewing—complete with amazing views, cold brews, and some seriously good eats from Flour City Empanadas 🙌🌅
