It started as a bit of blown plaster… then it just kept coming off. 😂

Sometimes you just have to keep going until you reach sound plaster.

Safe to say, this was a little more than a small repair. 🤦‍♂️

Three floors. One hell of a staircase. 👌

This bespoke staircase built by @dcd_carpentryandjoinery started out as bare timber and needed plenty of preparation before the finish could go on.

Knots treated, full primer coat, wood filled, sanded smooth, all the joints caulked and then finished with the topcoats.

It’s the prep that takes the time — but that’s what gives you the finish. 👌

A fresh finish for this loft room. 👌

All the bare plaster was sealed with Zinsser Gardz before getting the room ready for its finished coats.

The woodwork was painted crisp white, followed by two coats of @caparoluk Indeko Plus in a soft light blue to finish the walls.

A great paint to work with — excellent coverage and a really clean finish. 💙

From rusty and tired to ready for another season. 🔵⚽️

A serious amount of prep went into this one. All the poles and girders were thoroughly rubbed down, rust spots treated, and the existing sound paint sealed and primed.

Finished off with two coats of @zinsseruk AllCoat oil based for a tough, durable finish.

Not the quickest job, but the prep is what makes the finish last. 👌

Going bold with this bedroom. 💙

Walls, skirting boards, architraves and the door all finished using @tikkurila_uk paint. A deep blue for a dark, moody feel.

The white ceiling and coving keep it balanced, while carrying the blue through the woodwork gives the room a really cohesive finish.

Sometimes you just have to be brave with colour. 👌

From bare timber to a clean, hard-wearing finish. 👌

This staircase was fully prepped before any topcoat went on — every knot treated with shellac-based stain block, followed by a full primer coat and two coats of @tikkurila_uk Helmi 10

Lots of prep, plenty of spindles, and a finish that should stand up to plenty of traffic. 💪

From tired and weathered to a proper entrance again. 👌

This one needed more than just a coat of paint. We raked out the old cracks, re-caulked, filled all the holes and repaired the door before giving it a fresh new finish in green.

The surrounds were also dug out, bonded, filled and repaired before two coats of white.

New door furniture to finish it off — and I think the result speaks for itself. 👌
