Rebuilding our backyard from scratch means I will be planting every season for the foreseeable future.

As soon as the weather cools off, you know you can find me in the garden!

Here is what I’ll be planting in my garden beds this fall! Almost all perennials that will continue to grow and fill in my empty beds!

I’ve never seen the Japanese Anemone in person, but all the pictures I’ve seen are so impressive!

This will be my first year planting tulips or bulbs in general - I’ll keep you posted on how that goes!

Im curious, what growing zone are you in??

See what we’ve been working on this past year ✨🌱

We started with a pretty blank slate — especially after construction on the garage left our yard a total mess.

A labor of love from the whole family, for sure! From designing to building to watering and weeding every morning with mom… we really do use the heck out of our yard now!

So much more work to be done, but I’m glad we can see the value and use of the space even while it’s in progress. One thing you won’t find me doing? Rushing a project to the finish line just for the sake of finishing it. The process is the fun part!

Raise your hand if you’re SO tired 🙋‍♀️

I was so blissfully unaware how hard motherhood would be. It’s the most exhausting job I’ve ever had. But thankfully it’s incredibly gratifying!

If you’re a mom out there thriving and surviving at the same time - I see you 😅

Curious what to do with your spent hydrangeas? Turn them into a simple wreath and enjoy them all season long!

This was so easy to throw together and it really made me feel like fall is finally on its way. Indoor crafts are a necessity with this never ending 100+ heat!

You’ll need:
20-30 hydrangeas
Grapevine wreath
Scissors
Glue gun (optional)

1️⃣ Cut hydrangeas with a long stem and strip the leaves
2️⃣ Weave the stems into the wreath base one at a time
3️⃣ Keep moving around the wreath, filling gaps and rearranging as you go
4️⃣ Fluff and adjust until it’s full and even

That’s it — such an easy way to use up dried hydrangeas before the season’s over 🤍

My sanity is brought to you by frequent breaks in my garden 🪏
Planning my fall garden when it’s 110 outside feels criminal, but I know it’ll be flourishing soon enough!!

Multiple weeks of 100°+ temps will test the strength of your garden — and mine has pretty much failed. 🥵🌱

This is my first year with multiple raised beds, and I’ve learned some hard lessons I want to write down (so future me remembers, and maybe you can skip the pain too):

1. Pests are the enemy. It felt like a garden hazing ritual — a rotating cast of bugs came through and absolutely slaughtered everything.

2. Drip systems aren’t optional. Don’t lie to yourself thinking you’ll hand-water twice a day in triple-digit heat. You won’t. Get the drip line.

3. It’s okay to fail. I’d almost call this year a bust — but I did harvest and use multiple vegetables from this garden. And anytime something dies, I can go and plant something new!

Fall is coming, cooler temps are (hopefully) on the way, and that’s a fresh shot to pull what’s not working and try something new.

What successes or failures has your garden had this year? Let’s compare notes 👇
