I used to joke that when it comes to the cost of owning a boat, you can’t put a price on memories. These days, looking at pictures of Lane through my blurry, tear-filled eyes, I have come to learn how true that once sarcastic statement really is. I just can’t help wondering why things ended up this way. Wishing I could spend a few more moments with you, even if it was just the chance to say a proper goodbye. I’d tell you all the ways you made me proud, even though you have heard it all before. I’d tell you how you made me a better, more empathetic person. I’d give you one more hug. I’m so sorry Lane. I know none of that is going to happen again in this life so until we see each other again I’ll dig into my memory bank and remember the good times. So many of our memories were made on our boat, it seemed fitting to rename it Memory Lane 💜 in your honor. You’ve had my heart since the day you were born Lane. Nothing has or ever will change. 💜

We have received a lot of requests for a QR code for direct donations to the Love for Laney Foundation so we are pinning this to our page. Thank you so much for the generosity! by @loveforlaney

Cousins are forever friends, in this life and the next.

Our family purchased a cobblestone for Laney at the Children’s Memorial in Edgartown for what would have been her 8th birthday. The gesture alone meant so much, but the pictures we continue to receive from family and Laney’s friends at her stone means more than words. You are on island to have a memorable time, but you reserve a somber moment to remember our girl. It confirms our stance that we have the greatest support network. Thank you 💜

Prepping the custom Memory Lane 💜 tuna rods for their debut at the 2026 Big Game Battle. Thank you to @reeleasycustomrods and @duxburybait for helping make some of the most beautiful rods I’ve ever seen. They are turning heads on the docks at @nantucketboatbasin by @loveforlaney

Top 5 finish in the 2026 Empty Can Striper Open for team Memory Lane, amongst a highly talented field of 85 anglers. Got to be proud of that. Fishing the @emptycanstriperopen with @macdaddy10580 is always a highlight of the summer. Thank you to everyone at The Harbor Light Project for continuing to raise the bar for this tournament year after year. You’re support for The Love for Laney Foundation over the last 3 years has been incredible and has allowed us to do more in Laney’s honor than we ever thought possible. We truly cannot thank you enough 💜 See you on the water!

Today would be your 10th birthday, Laney. Your smile, your personality, your friendship, your love. You are so missed. The only reason I am able to put one foot in front of the other everyday is because of you. You inspire me to be a better person, to help others, to get involved, and to not take my time for granted. You were my best friend and will always be the very best part of me. Keep sending us your signs, it’s nice to know you are thinking of us while we are thinking of you 💜

The Mother’s Day flower pop-up installation at Lucky Finn Cafe returns for its 8th year. Seeking to celebrate in a big way, while honoring local mothers in the community, several local businesses have come together to create an installation of over 3,000 flowers on the facade of the popular Scituate Harbor coffee shop!

Beautiful blooms are donated and installed by Beach Plum Floral, photographer @hilarymoorephotography will be there to capture “Mama & Me” portraits, and @katemurtaugh will be present to assist with the overall production of the installation and event.

In addition to adorning the building with flowers, @beachplumfloral will have both arrangements and bouquets available for purchase, @featherandfinnco will be selling their LOVE IN BLOOM custom 100% soy non-toxic spring candle, adorned with illustrations by @prettyininkshop. @LuckyFinnCafe will be serving a specialty latte called the Coastal Bloom, a serene fusion of lavender and coconut, paired with espresso.

A portion of proceeds from event elements, including bouquets, candles, and family portraits, will be donated to the South Shore nonprofit, @loveforlaney. It was established in honor of Laney Ladd, a beloved young girl whose joyful spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Inspired by the outpouring of community support her family received following her passing, the foundation was created to pay that love forward to others navigating profound loss.

Several additional local businesses are joining the Mother’s Day weekend effort to extend the community’s generosity even further:

* Sea Salt Mercantile will donate 15% of all sales on Saturday and Sunday to Love for Laney and 143Exchange.
* The Reel Theater will offer mothers a FREE movie ticket to Devil Wears Prada 2 Saturday and Sunday showtimes with a donation to the Love for Laney Foundation.
* The Apiary will gift a Fairy Garden Kit with each donation made to the foundation, while supplies last.
* The Welch Company will donate 20% of all children’s item sales from the weekend directly to the cause.
