Nobody asked, but I need to say this..

We’ve turned prayer, worship, and following Jesus into a performance — and most of us don’t even realise it. Checking how we look while we’re supposed to be talking to God.

Chasing the “look” of faith while missing the actual relationship.

Jesus didn’t die so we could perform for Him. He died so we could stop hiding.

Surrender isn’t weakness — it’s the realest thing you’ll ever do. Come as you are. He already knows. Stop performing. Just come clean. 🤍

A casual and routine gym commute brought forth this thought that turned into this whole post — thank God for conviction:

That heaviness in your chest right before you mess up? That’s not shame. That’s a gift.

It’s what pulls someone back from an old addiction. What convicts you about how you spoke to someone. What nudges you to apologise before pride wins.

Sometimes, let’s be honest, we choose to fall because we’re flawed. We struggle with surrender daily. It’s a journey.

But by leaning into the conviction, we get closer to where we should be. And one day we’ll look back and see how far we’ve come because we listened to the inner voice directing our steps. We have to be grateful that we still have conviction from Him, because it shows that we aren’t incredibly far from Him.

Trust me, we don’t want to live a life with no conviction — that is a detrimental and reckless life to live. We will never arrive at where God has called and created us for.

I’ve always loved and still love — fashion and beauty. Looking good, feeling good, smelling great, and dressing well will forever be the vibe. Shoutout to Coco Chanel. What’s not to love about it? As long as I’m still able, I’ll make the effort even when I’m old and gray 🥹

Performance culture is real, and it’s exhausting to watch up close. If I could call myself an influencer, I’d want to be known as Simi the realist — because integrity is so key. Eldest child here, so maybe that’s part of why it hits different. But I’ve never been the type to stomach BS and fakery. Miss me with all of that, because what are we actually doing here? I can’t stand the fake accents. Girl, be for real 😅

Integrity over image. Every time. Integrity is everything and more to me - I stand on truth, every single time. What a beautiful thing to be known as someone who stands by what they say and never backs down. I’ve met people who are incredibly fickle with their words and statements, and honestly, that’s scary. Integrity should always be present in the room, it says a lot about who you are. Presenting a false image of yourself will never stand the test of time, but integrity will speak volumes about you.

I was growing. But it didn’t align with who I actually am — and my spirit knew it before I did. I wanted to be part of something meaningful. I just felt like it was all vanity, and I wanted to be part of something life-changing instead. A pretty face won’t save lives, but truth and freedom does because it transforms and renews minds.

I also developed imposter syndrome which I now see as disobedience because I’m withholding something that belongs to someone else. I have to be free flowing, what we have inside us isn’t meant to remain there.

Not a small girlie anymore, a growing woman. An empath. A thinker who knows that showing up online should come with value. I’m partnering with the Maker on this one, because He’s the one giving me the push and the ideas. I’m just the vessel.

learning to enjoy your own company will change everything.

because when you actually like being with yourself,
both knowingly and unknowingly,
you stop looking for people, places or things to complete you.

confidence doesn’t come from outside.
it comes from knowing who you are,
and being at peace with it.

and for me, that started with understanding
who God says I am… not what the world says who I am.

it’s okay if you’re not there yet.
just don’t run away from yourself.
