books for the 'ber months 🍂 ☕️ 🧣

so many books I want to read during the final quarter of 2026 — all of which I'm very excited for!

I'm currently reading Foxglove, the sequel to Belladonna and I'm loving it—this series is a fun time and the romance is exquisite ♡

I've also recommended a few that I have enjoyed~ there's some gothic fantasy, mysteries, paranormal and just plain unnerving reads that you should definitely add to your list !

Hello, let me talk to you about belladonna 🫴🏽

because what a journey it's been for me.

i started this book, not really knowing what to expect. I knew it had something to do with poisons and an old manor, that was it...

right away, I was enjoying myself and having a grand old time because it felt incredibly immersive and atmospheric. given that it's autumn, it really elevated the way I experienced this and I highly recommend you save this for the autumnal months. it massively influenced my enjoyment of this book.

but yes, the first third of this book felt nostalgic and enticing as we're introduced to our main character, Signa, who has been surrounded by death since birth. she's been moved from one relative to another, until she can claim her inheritance one day, but every one that takes her in seems to meet a deadly fate.

throw in more mysterious relatives and a eerie manor and you will be entertained. oh and yes, there's the very alluring Death because when I said Signa is surrounded by death, I meant by the actual Death. And he is...very captivating.

Signa also has a fondness for bottany, especially poisons btw.

It did take a dip midway but the romances and the gothic intrigue kept me entertained. I absolutely lived for the romance whereas the main mystery felt clear cut, it did just enough to keep me interested but it wasn't the star of the show. I was here for Signa, Sylas and Death.

That being said, the ending was the cherry of top and I'm so ready for whatever book 2 has in store for me. I'm excited to see where this is gonna go.

If you loved house of saphir by marissa meyer — the haunted manors and mystery then you'll enjoy this too.

belladonna was the perfect spooky, gothic and an entirely atmospheric read for the season.

🧺 ‧₊˚ ⋆｡ 🪞 ｡⋆ 🏹 ‧₊˚ august re-cap ♡

i have put off making this bc of a lack of motivation but also, to be very candid, august wasn't entirely great for me either.

my mental health took a turn so, while i did a lot of cool stuff, august kind of felt tainted too, sadly.

but i still wanted to compile everything into a post because i did do some fun stuff that's worth sharing and I'm grateful for, and while making this, it helped reshape the way i looked back on the month — so much so, i actually had to leave a bunch of photos and activities out because it was jam packed!

some things that i did but not included were;

☆ visiting the tony's chocolonely factory (one of my fav chocolate bars!)
☆ the barbie dream experience (ended up having way too much fun ♡)
☆ various meals out with friends (including some of the best korea food I've ever had!)

And probably more I can't remember!

my last, now, next;

⭐️ the last book I read was the vegetarian by han kang and it really messed me up — I couldn't collate my thoughts on it because it was such a jarring read which I knew going in but...still.

✨️ now I'm reading belladonna — I'm slowly getting through the books i mentioned in a previous post about my immediate tbr and this is one of the books that I've been meaning to read for the longest time!! luckily I'm really enjoying it and very much invested ♡

💫 next, I'm straying away from the tbr I mentioned because I absolutely need to get to our cut of salt by deena helm and i am so looking forward to it !!

🎧 books on my libro tbr (that I'm excited for!)

no surprise I love audiobooks — libro really is the reason I get any reading done, especially at work where I can multitask.

what's even better is every month they offer new audiobooks for reviewers and i love stocking up my tbr !!
