With turning 23, I wanted to spend some time reflecting on what God has been teaching me this past year and wanted to share some of my thoughts with y’all because God has been so kind to me!

Christ’s heart for me, a broken sinner in desperate need of a savior, is gentle and lowly. He is an approachable, compassionate, and gentle savior!

Hardships and suffering are not for nothing. They have given me a testimony to help those around me. And I can cling to God’s promise that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope!

Just because I have a relationship with Jesus does not mean that my life is now easy and free of pain or suffering - that won’t happen on this side of heaven, but what it does mean is that in the midst of the pain Jesus is right there with me! He is walking hand and hand with me, sad with me, helping me every step of the way. God is WITH me. God is El Roi, the God who sees us. When you have a relationship with Jesus hard things don’t just disappear, but the difference is that we have hope in Christ and hope in heaven!

It’s okay to not be okay. God is not put off by my emotions! He is a loving father who wants me to run to Him with my emotions. We get to see David run to God with his big and messy emotions in the psalms and God calls David “a man after his own heart”!

Sanctification is not always easy and quick - it can be hard and messy and painful, but it is so worth it and so good for us. God loves us so much that He doesn’t leave us stuck in our sin with no way out. God is so gracious to us that He conforms us to the image of his Son!

God does not withhold anything good from His children! If a different circumstance or season was better for me, God would make that happen. I can trust the Lord in this season knowing that His plans for me are good and that His will is good, pleasing, and perfect!

God does not love me any more on my best day and God does not love me any less on my worst day. God’s love for me is steady and never ending and never fails because of Christ in me!

No person, place, or thing in this world can truly satisfy me. Only God can fully satisfy me! by @lovekaylin
