From the very first page to the last, 2024 was a year to remember and celebrate! It will always be the year that @lovelikeolive found its place in hearts, homes, libraries, and bookstores — and it will also mark the year that I became an author 🥹 This journey has been surreal from start to finish, with so many unknowns, behind the scenes work, and so much love along the way. I knew this story would be special to me and my family, but what I didn’t know was that @yennamariana would bring it to live on the most vividly beautiful way possible, or that this book would be so wholeheartedly received by readers. So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!! Yes, YOU!! We’re so excited to keep the #howilovelikeolive mission alive in this next year, but are also preparing for a few fun and NEW things in 2025 😉✨ Thank you for making @lovelikeolive apart of your year!

SECRET SANTA PAWS | This year was our second time doing our new favorite tradition! 🎅🏼🐾 In honor of our sweet Olive, who was the best Christmas Eve surprise back in 2013, we spread some magic by dropping off surprise dog treats for the special pups in our life! This year, we baked homemade dog treats, wrote cards, and had a new helper (aka treat taste-tester) + addition to the family, Harper! Her and Zoe are proud to keep Olive’s memory and magic alive this season. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, with all the warmth, love, and joy possible! Make sure to hug your fur babies extra this holiday 💝

After an incredible initial launch and record-breaking community support, we have hit a roadblock with getting @lovelikeolive in the hands of our readers. For those of you who have been following along with our stories and updates, this is simply a more official update for our followers!
•
About two months ago, I started receiving copies from my printing company that were inconsistent and incorrect. These copies had major printing errors, cutting errors, were completely unsellable, and below the quality that I invested in for my customers. The issues were blamed on me, and we have since discovered that was not the case. I have undergone weeks of back and forth with customer service representatives, failing to reach any sort of permanent solution in a prompt manner. It’s been frustrating and disheartening to say the least, but I am not giving up on this problem and @lovelikeolive until we reach a solution 💚
•
I am currently waiting on my third round of adjustments, and my proof copy is expected in the mail within the next week or two. If this copy is perfect and 100% quality like the first 500 copies were (insert eye-roll), we will have the green light again! However, there are no more other alternatives at this point, which is nerve-wrecking. I firmly believe that we will have a victory and am asking for all the good thoughts and prayers to be sent our way! We need all the support and positivity we can get.
•
Thank you so much for your love and patience in this season. I can’t wait to get @lovelikeolive back in your hands! This is hopefully just apart of the journey for the self published author. Then, we can get back to our regularly scheduled events and new things! ✨
•
Keep loving like Olive in the meantime.

October has been packed full of fun and special opportunities in our local community! 🐾 We kicked off the month with a 2-day read aloud and shopping event for Books in the Barn at @h3barn_ which was a blast! Then, we headed out to the @edhcsd for their annual Bark-B-Q, where we met so many awesome dogs! And we ended our event calendar for the month at local bookstore, Face in a Book, for a read aloud and book signing.

Thank you to any and all friends and family who came out to support, as well as all of the beautiful new faces and friends made along the way! 🐾🎾 #localauthor #childrensbooks #childrensillustration #localchildrensauthor #like #bookevents #sacramento by @lovelikeolive
