Never thought Vegas could feel healing, but I got to hang out with my inner teenager and we had a blast. Seeing No Doubt live was a teenage dream, and adult me made it happen. Seeing them at The Sphere was unreal. I also loved being surrounded by Millennials dressed like we did back then. Highly recommend if you were a fan in the 90s/2000s.
To make the weekend even more nostalgic, I reunited with my teenage role model, Claudia. She was the coolest girl at church. She dressed extravagant, was popular, smart, wild, loved Jesus, and somehow balanced it all. Turns out, I became her. 😂 The party girl with degrees who still loves Jesus.
I love you, Claudia. Thank you for showing me that two extremes can exist within you and still be loved by Jesus. Perfection is a made-up religious error. Happy Mother’s Day. I still admire you in your wife and mother era, and I’m so grateful we got to bring our moms together this Mother's Day weekend.

That girl is going, going, gone.

August was great. It was my nurse-versary. I turned 10. How quickly a decade passes by! 😯 Becoming a nurse was the greatest decision I've ever made. I have learned, witnessed, and met amazing people and opportunities. This year was rough and heart breaking in my career, but also pivotal and a blessing. I'm so excited for my new endeavors in San Diego. When I saw palm trees growing inside my new hospital, I knew this was the place for me. The city also welcomed me with fireworks. 🥹 I'm here with an open heart and mind for whatever God has planned for me. 🙌🏾 taken in San Diego, California by @lovelyosa

I struggle with calling people "best friend" because they have a tendency to ruin the title for me. Not you. Your loyalty to me throughout the years has been unbreakable. I love you beyond words. Thank you for being with me through good times. You've always been a helpful hand when I've needed it. Most importantly, thank you for being someone I've counted on at my worst. You've lifted me up off the floor many times. I am so proud of the woman you have become. You've shown up for yourself in ways that will only lead to greatness. I speak blessings over your life. 2023 was filled with beauty and challenges.

It was a year of huge growth. Unfortunately, growing pains hurt. We have to fight to be our best selves. An evolving soul will always experience the push pull. I did hard work: therapy, sobriety and mourning. I mourned people I loved, but had to let go. I mourned old behaviors and thought processes. I mourned the old Helen (even though I never want to be her again). I mourned for 5 years, if I'm really being honest. Sadness will take you as deep as you let it. My soul is tired. I'm grateful that life runs on seasons. I'm excitedly embracing my new season up ahead. I am officially expiring my Sad Girl Era and welcoming Healed Woman Abundance 2024.

To my heavenly Father, who is my source of strength, thank You for carrying me through this long, dreadful process. I am excited for the new people You will bring to my life. I am eager to live my life as the new, healed Helen. I open my heart and mind to all the blessings You want to give me because, Lord, I'm tired of learning lessons.
