"Top Gun" was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I've watched it countless times and it was the catalyst that sparked my interest in movies and acting. I would get grief from my Film professors in college when I said this or sarcastic questions from my friends asking if it was just the sweaty bromance volleyball scene that really caught my interest. Either way, the film always holds a special place in my heart not only because of what it inspired in me, but because there are some bangers on the soundtrack. The main love song is "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin. To this day, the song still hits and gives me all the feels. I've known for a long time that I wanted to cover it but the right moment never came. Until now! In very serendipitous fashion, after 5 years of not making any music together, the man who recorded and played bass on my last "Rian Basilio and The Roosters" album, sat back down in the studio with me to create the first release from my new reggae project "King Roostah". Brandon Niznik a.k.a "@wiseowlsound" is an extremely talented, multi instrumentalist, producer and engineer that I consider a brother. We spent the better part of 6 years writing, recording and touring together. We've shared lots of stories, highs and lows in family, relationships and life and a bond that I will carry forever. Many years passed that we fell out of contact, yet when we finally got back into the studio, it was like no time had passed at all. I threw out this idea of doing a reggae cover of "Take My Breath Away" and he was instantly on board. When I say he is a multi-instrumentalist, I'm not exaggerating. The man played every single instrument and recorded all the music on this track. Which allowed me to focus on delivering the vocal performance I've heard for so many years in my head. For that, I was able to I was able to lean on my team to really help create something amazing and uniquely me. So massive credit to my vocal production team @sylmac and @jshermmusic and to my voice teacher @stefanisikoraolsson. Thank you all for believing in me and I'm so excited to share our work with the world. "Take My Breath Away" will be available everywhere 3.23.22!!! All my Aloha! by @lovetrafficker

Having fun recording some of my favorite songs of all time. This classic track written by Prince and made famous by Sinead O’Connor was the perfect start. Recorded with @wiseowlsound at his studio in LA. Looking forward to sharing these broken down, acoustic versions with you! Stay tuned for more clips and the full video release. And as always, go check out all of my other music wherever you are streaming. Search for Rian Basilio and The Roosters, Rian Basilio X Chillah Killahz, King Roostah.

Probably didn’t have pig pedicure on your Friday night bingo card! Our friend @emily_the_trimmer a world renowned farrier, comes by about four times a year to make sure Piggie Smallz is trimmed and polished for all his fans. The safest and most effective way to do this is to flip him on his back and use a dremel to shape his little hooves to keep his joints and gait in tip top shape. #Pig #potbellypig #petpig #elportopig by @lovetrafficker

On this day, a very short number of years ago… the world was blessed with a bright shining light rivaled only by that of the sun. @amandalee.lac you are truly a gift to us all. Your love, compassion and friendship is endless and I hope today you feel as special and cared for as you make everyone else. I wish you the happiest and most joyous of birthdays and can’t wait to continue to watch you grow into an even more amazing and beautiful woman. #hauolilāhānau #happybirthday by @lovetrafficker
