Twelve years later, I’m so happy I can still wear my Mister Freedom Lot. 64 Ranch Blouse ”Uncle Sam“ denim jacket. It was my very first time fading raw denim, and though I didn‘t think the wear was perfect back then, ten years on, it has preserved the marks of a wonderful time in my life.

Ready for winter 🤓

I never thought I’d end up picking up this San Mateo leather jacket, commonly known as the ‘Squid’ in Taiwan. Since taking weight training more seriously over recent years, my old leather jackets all started feeling too tight, forcing me to part ways with a few that no longer fit. As luck would have it, a fellow enthusiast was willing to let go of this rare size 44. Needless to say, I‘m thrilled to welcome the upcoming fall and winter.

【FREE WHEELERS/フリーホイーラーズ】のレザーコレクションより「30’s Motorcycle Jacket Double Breasted Type”SAN MATEO”/30’sモーターサイクルジャケットダブルブレステッドタイプ”サンマテオ”」になります。

実名復刻「Peter’s TAILOR MADE」レーベルの1930年代のダブルブレステッドライダースジャケットをモチーフに製作されたライダースジャケットです。

戦前のモーターサイクルジャケット界における東の究極が【LEATHER TOGS/レザートグス】であるならば、西の究極は【Peter’s TAILOR MADE/ピーターステイラーメイド】だろう。

合わせがとても深く、開くと独特の襟のデザインをもつ”アヴィエータ―・スタイル”が特に有名なライダースジャケットだが、ピーターステイラーメイドもまた現存するヴィンテージは、発見される個体ごとにサイジングやパーツ、ディテールが違うのである。

こちらはネームタグにテイラーメイドとある事からも全てオーナーの為に作られていたのであろう。どちらのブランドも熟練した職人による丁寧な作り込みは、やはり究極の称号が相応しい。

オリジナルレシピの1.2mm厚のベジタブルクローム鞣しの灰芯ホースハイドを使用し、着込む程にヴィンテージさながらの経年変化を味わうことが出来ます。

I’m genuinely happy that I can still wear Mister Freedom’s iconic Campus Jacket, which I bought ten years ago. The Pherrow’s henley shirt has also been part of my wardrobe for more than a decade.

Perhaps one of the quiet pleasures of middle age is realizing that you can still enjoy the clothes you bought when you were younger. Even better, these pieces haven’t lost any of their classic character with time—they’ve only become more meaningful.

I never expected the day to turn into a river-trekking adventure—and I certainly wasn’t mentally prepared to take these Wesco engineer boots into the water on their very first outing.

Still, I took a deep breath and stepped into the stream.

Built with the toughness Wesco is known for, these boots handled the water, slippery rocks, and uneven terrain remarkably well. Their rugged construction and impressive water resistance kept my feet protected and gave me the confidence to keep moving.

Thanks to them, I was able to stay close to my child and share the entire outdoor adventure together.

After waiting eight years to wear them, their first real journey took them straight into the water. I can’t think of a better way for these boots to begin their story.
