Primary colors aren’t just for summer, and cool weather is actually a great time to wear them! The trick is to ground red, blue, yellow, and green with fall’s richer neutrals, so they feel seasonal instead of playground. I styled 3 ways to try it: a color-blocked knit with cream wide-leg pants and cobalt sneakers, a striped cardigan over chocolate brown trousers with a pop of red at the ear and the sneaker, and a multistripe tank under a black blazer with deep green jeans. A single accessory in a primary color is also an easy place to start if you’re not ready for a full sweater. Which look would you wear first? 🔴🟡🔵🟢

Roomy through the middle, with drop shoulders and a thoughtful collar to protect you from chillier weather, it layers over nearly everything in your wardrobe. Color blocking sounds intimidating, but it comes down to choosing 3-4 colors and giving each one a job. Swipe through for four fall palettes: red with navy and lime green, forest green with mustard and chocolate brown, navy with teal and chartreuse, and burgundy with gold and cobalt. To keep it wearable, let one color lead and give the others supporting roles. And if you want to try it with what you already own, tying a sweater around your waist (like the cover slide) adds a color block in about five seconds. Which palette would you wear first? 🍂

Sports continue all year round, but fall is when the team jerseys tend to creep into everyday styling. The trick is treating it like any other oversized top. Pair it with a bandana or scarf for a '70s-leaning touch, tuck it loosely over trousers or jeans, or layer it under a bomber or shacket for textile contrast. A jersey also plays well with both polished pieces (loafers, a structured bag) and more casual ones (sneakers, a baseball cap), so the styling range runs wider than people expect. The jacket pairs with denim, trousers, or a slip dress. The skirt works solo with a simple top and layers under a blazer later. Buying a set isn't a single-use purchase, it's two foundational pieces that multiply your options for fall.
