I believe there are no mistakes in life. How this post even came about is pretty ironic. I was talking to my friend today about when my cousin visited me last year in #Jordan and the amazing youth Osam I know who takes photos for tourists in Petra. So I scrolled through to show her the photos taken by him last year for my cousins and I. As we looked at them I noticed how though in Jordan some photos were seemingly with the Palestinian flag. The star was only printed on one side or just cut off in some frames I don’t know. I had never noticed this. With everything going on I felt compelled to post these. My heart breaks for the senseless loss of life anywhere in the world. As a child born and raised in the US due to the war in #Liberia my heart bleeds for decades of injustice and inhumanity anywhere. I’ve seen that #Oppression whether imposed by your own or outsiders will suffocate and stifle the growth of generations and development of a nation. I was quiet in prayer these past few days and encouraging friends here in tears daily to simply do the same. Today when I saw this little “mistake” in the photos I knew it was time to say what’s heavy on my heart and mind. I’ve lived in the Middle East for five years and even before that I knew #Palestine is a nation. It is not a terrorist organization. #Palestinians deserve #respect #freedom #humanity and #liberty as we all do. If you don’t read or understand history you should please be quiet during these times. There’s so much misinformation and ignorance being spewed here and on all media platforms 🥺What is being done to #Palestine and #Gaza right now is #GENOCIDE In the words of @queenrania “It isn’t self defense if you are an occupying force”. Hamas is not an excuse to exterminate a nation and its children anymore than Judaism was. I know and trust in the goodness of GOD. I pray and believe with every part of me that in my lifetime Palestine will rise,rebuild, and have what GOD intended for this great land. A year ago on this day you gave me the honor of standing beside you on one of the most important days of your life. Two years prior Rabe gave me the honor of planning your surprise proposal. Our sisterhood has come with all the ups and downs of a marriage, but I wouldn’t change one day we have laughed, cried, or sat in silence together.
