I’m thrilled about presenting the screening of my documentary about Barcelona’s label @italo_moderni and a small portion of the underground music scene at ADE in the Netherlands on Sunday. It’s been a couple of years of documenting in a very raw way some joyful moments around music. Talking to inspirational heros like Krishna Goineau, who was performing at Manchester’s iconic nightclub “The Haçienda” back in 1982 (Year I was born). Also chatting with dearly missed Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant, Michel Amato aka @the_hacker_amato and others has been an absolute privilege. I’ve been shooting a documentary for my buddy @adrianmarth_ of @italo_moderni for the past year about the music we love. Juan was our last interview guest and as always he brightened the room with his kind energy and charisma. The day after the recording we caught up again along with some friends and his beautiful wife Simone to see him record his NTS radio show Optimistic Decay live from @33l45l33 in Barcelona.He was kind enough to play two vinyl records from my label Disidencia and came out of the booth mid mix just to congratulate me about a couple of the tracks. (That’s the kind of guy he was, humble and a master of his craft) I’ve been listening to his voice almost daily for the last few weeks as I edit the interview.It took me the whole day to process these devastating news before I could post this. I believe these little fragments of video and photos from the community are testament to how important and appreciated he was within the scene. May both rest in peace as well as Luis. My deepest condolences to the families..@silentservant77 @borjajs@nts_radio@disidencia_records by @low_frequenc

I’m super stoked and incredibly honoured to have helped curating the opening day of @ombrafestival in Barcelona under the umbrella of @wearemayaki The event will take place this coming Thursday and it is satisfying to know it sold out!Complementing their already established programming was exciting as the audience will have plenty to choose from.Together with Lloyd and Arun, my two Londoners partners in crime, we have spent the last couple of years conceiving this multidisciplinary series of MAYAKI which includes:Exhibitions, visual art installations, conferences, documentary screenings, workshops, independent interviews and journalism, and of course great underground music in both, Live and Dj set formats.All in one gatherings that we hope to host every few months in different parts of the world.Thank you to the amazing OMBRA family and all the artists involved. It’s been great to work and collaborate with art and culture driven, like-minded people. I will be moderating talks as well as a workshop/masterclass in the company of @fredumwelt @chloe.lula and @ancientmethods Nice to keep on putting all those years of work and networking within the music and art industries in a synchronised fashion.All available on live streaming via no other than Rotterdam’s @operator.radio at 15:00h Central European Time. 🙌 by @low_frequenc
