Opening up the heart of Meyboom.

The former interior of this corner building is becoming an open-air patio, bringing light and air deep into the new student housing. As the works progress, the new structure is starting to take shape, with two more floors to come.

Part 3 of our project at Martelaarsplein is taking shape.

The historic government cabinet buildings in Brussels are being transformed into a sustainable, future-oriented workplace. By carefully opening up, preserving and rebuilding the existing structures, the project gives new life to the architecture while respecting its heritage value.

LOW is glad to be part of this meaningful journey, together with @sweco_belgium, Feniks and @artes_group.

Val Maria has been completed. The building on the Mariëndaal site marks the entrance to the garden district and makes the transition between the higher blocks on Kraatveldstraat and the low-rise fabric of the neighbourhood. The volume steps down gradually, a gentle landing.

Inside, 19 homes of varying types: east-west and north-south apartments, units with three facades, duplexes. A simple circulation system keeps the whole clear and accessible. A building that knows its place.

Val Maria has been completed. On the Halve Cirkel site, 26 homes are organised around a shared yard. The cluster houses are grouped in twos or fours, staggered to preserve views across the site. No fixed front or back, homes that open up in every direction.

The in-between spaces make room for greenery and encounter, in the spirit of the original garden district. Pastel green facades that pick up the tone of the neighbourhood without copying it. An ensemble that fits in without disappearing.

As the school year draws to a close, we’re putting one of our recent projects in the spotlight. Earlier this year, MAIO was completed and since then the first students have been walking through the corridors, playground and sports hall of the Maria Assumpta Instituut in Opwijk, a school for children with autism.

Movement and rest are not afterthoughts here. The rooftop sports field, the quiet playground against the forest, the covered colonnade that offers shelter without closing off the outside, every space has a clear purpose.

Creative Office Space Available

Space has become available in our office on the tenth floor. A bright workspace with 360° views across the city, all the necessary amenities within easy reach, and room for a team of six to twelve people.

The available area offers sufficient privacy to operate independently. In addition, meeting rooms, the kitchen and other facilities are shared.

We strongly believe in the value of an inspiring work environment. We are therefore particularly interested in welcoming a studio, collective, organisation or company with a creative, cultural or artistic mind.
