Marfa Live Arts

Dance Ranch Marfa
August 3-7, 2026

This performance lab is a rigorous investigation of the relationship between the self and the group in an art-making context. The workshop is intended to provide dedicated spaces for collective/individual learning and exploration. We use this time in Marfa to work, investigate, and collectively widen compositional, sensorial, and performance skills.

Using Ensemble Thinking, ReWire Movement States, and Contact Improvisation as points of departure, we will investigate the intra-relationships of the solo body, the weighted body and the ensemble. The days consist of two blocks of time in the studio. The performance lab will end with a performance that is open to the public.

Location: Marfa TX

Registration price: Sliding scale $475-$600
Early Bird: $400, $200 deposit by June 1, 2026

Refund Policy: if you ask for a refund before July 18, we keep 50$ handling fee between July 18-July 25, we keep half of the fee. After July 25, no refund, but you can find someone to take your place

i had fun writing this piece about new forms of seeing & moving in accelerated times . grateful for the opportunity to ramble in lyric & share some photos. to explore the studio/works of jean goehring and the collective practices w/ lower left. please read / share if inclined.

i have been thinking on experimentation & the touching of our reflexes in regards to making art & also pedagogy . space to explore questions w/ no answer ,, as an invitation to expand the conversation — connect — lean in & w/ one another.

the artists i mention are all of true inspiration to me in practice & person . grateful to share community w/ .
