I’m premiering a cinematic poetry performance titled ”Downward Ascension” at the @karhupuistofilmfestival on Saturday 12 September.

Downward Ascension is a 65-minute meditation on the current collapse of world systems and the rise of a new sensualized vibration. It’s a feature-length slideshow film accompanied by a live poetry reading. This is a spiritually wild thing, like a yoga class or a subversive hypnosis happening in a space between cinema and performance art, inspired by the idea of kundalini ascension in reverse, a sweet disorganization of the 8 chakras.

It would mean the world to me if you came to see me do something new. x by @lowincomeglow

🟦 Simon Fisher Turner & Niko Hallikainen perform Derek Jarman’s Blue at OMVF 🟦

The opening night of the Oulu Music Video Festival on August 27 presents something genuinely rare: a live performance of Blue (1993), Derek Jarman’s final film and one of the defining works of 20th-century British art and queer cinema.

The film’s legendary composer Simon Fisher Turner travels from London to perform a newly updated score. Alongside him, Niko Hallikainen — one of the most distinctive voices in Finnish performance poetry and literature — delivers Jarman’s intimate monologue live. Together, the immersive soundscape and spoken word meet the film’s iconic, unwavering field of International Klein Blue.

A hypnotic meditation on AIDS, mortality, and love, Blue is unlike any other film. There are no cuts, no camera movement — only the color blue. Moving between the mundane and the infinite, the film pulls the viewer into a trance that both overwhelms and purifies.

Turner has performed Blue in various configurations at Tate Modern, the Pinault Collection, and the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna. The OMVF presentation marks its Finnish and Nordic premiere.

Tickets (20/15€) available at the Valve ticket office and via Ticketmaster. Kaiku Card accepted. Seats are limited — read more via the link in bio! by @lowincomeglow

Kirja kuvaa, kuinka mun psyykikkoni ennusti mulle kodin kuuluisalla vuorella. Mystisen prosessin kautta avautuu kirjallinen ehdotus, mitä on heittäytyä tuonpuoleisten voimien ohjattavaksi näinä globaalisti epäluotettavina aikoina.

Prima materialla mä haluan osoittaa sydämestäni kaiken kunnioitukseni sille, mikä kirjoittajan instrumentissa on musta maagista. by @lowincomeglow

Massive thank you for all your support and interest towards Lavender Deal, it was a really magical, trippy and haunting time outside of time. Full house for five nights in a row, and it felt unbelievable to be that intimate with you after these few years of social distance/isolation.

@manyau_helsinki created the sculptures, it’s a mind-altering pleasure and privilege to collaborate with a genius like Mandy. @e_vain_ created the scented candles, adding more wildly hallucinatory notes to the piece. Harju 8 and @jannek5 allowed me to use that special space. And I fancy everyone who attended the shows. Thank you. 🌋✨💜
