Come along on our very first PUSO Hope Reframed House tour!

With the help of our college partners, community donors, and supporters, we’re delighted to give you an inside look at one of the homes we’ve built in Siargao and the family who now gets to call it their own.

There are still many families in need of safe and sustainable housing, especially those who have been displaced by typhoons and other challenges.
We hope to continue building homes and creating lasting impact for families who need it most.

To everyone who helped make this home possible, thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us turn support into something tangible for a family in need.

We’re excited to share this home with you and hope you’ll come along for the tour.

Filled with so much love and gratitude 🤍

The first time I visited the PUSO Families in Siargao, I was just a college student who wanted to fundraise with my @fiauic & @battleofthebamboo board members and council back in 2023. I could never have guessed that it would all turn into this: 17 homes (with 2 more in progress — doubling the number of homes built since my initial visit) and supporting access to medicine for a community for 3 years in a row.

The beneficiaries and families have said nonstop how thankful they are, but little do they know how much they’ve impacted MY life. Coming back here every year feels like a fresh start — a reminder of who I am and what I love to do. This trip was probably the biggest one for me, especially thinking about how much my life has changed since last July (iykyk lol).

@thepusofoundation has always made sure that the work we do is never just a band-aid solution, but one that is long-term and sustainable. @lorriemaemiculob and the team she has built in the Philippines have shown me what real empathy and commitment to serving a community looks like — from the families receiving these homes, to then becoming the people who make it all possible.

I’ve spent the past 3 years going to schools, talking to crowds, families, friends, and strangers about how beautiful it is to see our communities here in the U.S. continue to show love, passion, and support for our communities in the Philippines.
To the student leaders: as someone who was exactly in your shoes just 3 years ago, I hope you know that the time you spend setting up events, donating your time and/or money, and showing up for our communities has never been wasted. The smiles on the faces of these families we serve are because of a collective effort — and you are a part of that.

These words aren’t enough to truly show how I feel or how life-changing my experience with PUSO has been, but hopefully, my “thank you” to everyone involved can show at least a fraction of it.
