After meeting @aspekovna_, whose practice is rooted in traditional handmade Kyrgyz embroidery, I was honoured to have her beautiful work embroidered onto my hat as a special way to remember my time at the World Nomad Games 🇰🇬

Blessings and gratitude to the @world_nomad_kitchen команда!

It was a great honor to be invited and a part of the incredible World Nomad Games 2026 and to represent Canada on this international stage. Events like this only work when people show up with an open mind and a desire to connect, share, and learn from one another.

I’ve been so inspired by Kyrgyz culture, especially by the way people eat and gather around food here.

Big thanks to God and to everyone who participated and supported and made this experience so special.

“Food has this incredible ability to slow people down, create conversation and build community. Whether that’s a conversation about food, hosting a dinner, making a film or collaborating with people who inspire me, it’s all rooted in the same idea: creating meaningful experiences around food.

I also care deeply about craftsmanship. love learning techniques, understanding ingredients and improving through repetition. FOODclub provides a space to pursue that without pretending I’ve got all the answers. It’s about being curious, sharing the process and hopefully encouraging other people to cook, gather and connect a little more often.
