Came up with this little thing yesterday morning. I was thinking of a friend who's going through tough stuff. This riff is like a small little space to hide away, slow down the brain, make room for our hearts.

It also makes me think of my earliest collaborations & projects as Low Key Trampoline, sending little snippets like this off to near strangers, then slowly building something musically unique together and learning to trust.

Anybody hear anything with this?

Pics from my recent trip to Ireland 🍀

An amazing country, green and lush, full of history, and the people - I can't wait to go back and see more of this magical island ✈️

My wife and I went to see the great Irish folk-rock band The Hothouse Flowers, and spent a week driving and hiking around the splendid natural & historical sites of Wexford, Trim, Glendalough, and The Boyne Valley 🇮🇪

Highlights: Neolithic site of Newgrange, discovering the music of Irish legend Rory Gallagher, drinking Guinness at Mary's Pub in Wexford, Trim Castle (1172 AD) in the city of Trim, and walking the lovely & expansive beach at Curracloe (where Saving Private Ryan was filmed), and standing outside the gates of Slane Castle where U2 recorded their ambient-rock masterpiece, Unforgettable Fire 🔥

So much 💚 and respect for the people and this place - until next time 🙏🏼🍀🇮🇪

Every Fall, my "band of brothers" - The Ida Haze Band - disappears into the woods, ensconced in a Western Wisconsin cabin for a few days. We eat, we stay up way too late, we set up our music gear (drums, bass, guitars, recording equipment) and we jam & find our way back to sanity in our yearly "studio retreat."

This song came up with me to play with the guys (Chriss Mester, Christopher Koshiol, Glenn Olson) but I wasn't sure where it would go. It was a late night session grab - we were probably fairly spent from a day's work on the other track that emerged from that weekend, Koshiol's Drivin' My Way - but we waded into this pensive, quiet little number and something beautiful was hatched.
