So, what exactly is LOWVELO?

LOWVELO is more than a bike ride. It’s a community coming together to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

Each year, riders from across South Carolina and beyond come together in Charleston to ride, raise money and show their support for the patients, families, survivors, caregivers and researchers working to change what’s possible in cancer care.

And every mile has a purpose: 100% of rider-raised dollars support cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Network.

Whether you’re chasing a personal goal, riding in honor or memory of someone you love, or simply want to be part of something bigger, there’s a place for you at LOWVELO.

There’s more than one way to LOWVELO.

Want to ride? Choose from our road routes (7, 14, 27, 50, 80) and find the distance that’s right for you.

Not ready to hit the road? Our Stationary Ride lets you be part of the action without riding the course.

Home Team is a way for you to raise money and support the mission from wherever you are doing the activity of your choice. You do you!

And if riding isn’t your thing, volunteer! It takes more than 400 volunteers to make LOWVELO the incredible experience our riders have come to expect.

You can also make a difference by donating to support cancer research.

It helps fund the kind of high-risk, high-reward cancer research that can be difficult to fund through traditional sources—but could lead to discoveries that change the future of cancer care.

Over the years, $1.7 million in LOWVELO rider-raised funds has seeded research projects that went on to receive more than $25.5 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health.

Who says witches can't do a little good while they're out riding? 🧙🏼 🧹

When Abby Kazley, a breast cancer survivor who received treatment at @MUSCHollings, decided to rally her neighborhood for LOWVELO, she had a pretty fun idea: gather a crew, dress up as witches and hit the road on two wheels.

The result? A whole lot of Halloween spirit, plenty of smiles and more than $3,000 raised for cancer research at Hollings! We love seeing the creativity, community spirit and heart behind every LOWVELO fundraiser.
