Addicted to carp fishing, chasing a 20lb trophy carp in a tough water to target them, follow on my journey and chase. And wish me luck. Tight lines 🎣

Nothing like catching one that's been f'ng you around for hours after the rain under a nice ol' rainbow. Hell yea!

I don't think I'll get tired of these. Wish they got a little less hate. They're smart, and they fight like hell. Over the last year and a bit, they've put me through my paces, but that's what I love about em. They're a challenge. And the creek I fish has a lot of snags which introduces even more challenges, especially with hair rigs having a bare hook fall to the bottom with the hair holding the bait. Learning where to avoid has been a time. But I'm getting there 💯 Follow for more!

Learning every time I'm out. Bunch of little ones all morning during the rain then they all left. Chummed heavy with a whole bag of corn, hours later a school of 3 big ones show up. I had 2-4 pieces of corn on my hair rig. They'd swim around it and leave it, eat the free corn off the bottom, they'd look at it and swim away. After about 40minutes of this I slipped one single kernel on the rig to match the single kernel chum they're eating. Placed it where I'd seen them cruise the most and re chummed that spot. Less then 10 minutes later I hooked this and had a great fight with it. I also had someone tell me the corn should be closer to the hook, it works better a bit further from the hook, they don't see it, and they'll still get the hook. Closer to the hook were my worst days all month. Follow on my journey/chase of the 20lb+ common carp. They caught my attention last year, now they have it.

Here's my Sunday best! To bad I had to call it after this and head to work, but after all the dinks for the last two weeks this was very nice. Was worried for my rod on a few of the pulls. Love the fight these things put up! Was as long as my torso is tall. Dialing in the techniques to get the big ones. Let's hope for that 20lber before the end of the year 🙏

Still chasing that 20lber. The 15lber I caught was wild! These smaller ones still put up a decent fight though. They're starting to get smarter now, and as the fall comes, they will start making their way up the creek to the main river. Will I get the 20lber before the years up? Only time can tell.

Tough day on the creek today. One good one blessed me at least. Put up a good fight, thought it was bigger!

Learned how to tie hair rigs. Carp game is up, new skill acquired, LVL'd up baby! Hook up ratio went through the roof! 7 bites 6 fish landed. All around the same size! Fun fish!

I'm sold I'm a carp man. No season and not illegal to catch and release in ontario Canada for common carp specifically. Even regulated seasons now in some zones, they are established in ontario some what now. I'm on cloud 9 folks.

8hrs chasing this one, 2 bags of corn almost. 20minute fight, no net, good thing I put my waders on. I kept getting little ones with corn on the hook, but this guy kept spitting it out. Smart fish. I slipped the corn up the hook onto the line, 8 pieces, it took the corn and ran with it, I let it run then closed my bail and set the hook hard, the hook slipped into its mouth as the corn and line was pulled out, improvises hair rig idea. 2 years chasing the big one I lost. Maybe not the same one, but same ball park. Don't know when I'll get another beauty like this, so I took a good ammount of time to appreciate the moment after I released it. Show your big fish in the comments if you read the whole story! Tight lines! 💯🎣

Hear my tale, of the one that didn't get away 😆 8hrs, and 2 bags of corn later. Hunted this one all day, kept spitting my bait, kept getting bass, catfish, and small common carp. Slipped the corn up the line above the hook, and this bad boy finally took it, and when I set the hook, it caught the top lip perfect, rudimentary hair rig idea worked. Been hunting one like this for a year and a half. All the hard work is paying off today. What a feeling. 3 pics wasn't sure which one came out the best. 20minute fight, no net, had to gas it right out and pull it out the creek by hand. Felt boss as hell, I almost thought I was gonna lose it. I kept trying to wrap my head around how I was gonna land this fish. Damn near got away too. Slipped from my hands and threw the hook and I scooped it out the water onto the bank, jumped on it and hugged it 🤣😭💀 I was not losing this fish!!!!!

In japenese culture there's a folklore about a yellow river the carp travel up a waterfall clearing the dragons gate, the gods are impressed by their perseverance and determination and bless them with a celestial transformation into a dragon essentially becoming water gods. They are a symbol in their culture of determination and perseverance. Funny how in our culture, they're just a trash fish. Selective carp breeding is what brought about the beautiful Koi fish as well.

Spent the better part of last year hunting these buggers after losing one bigger then my torso. Was using circle hooks and had terrible hook up ratio, swapped to Aberdeen hooks 100% hook up ratio today! 3bites 3 caught, with this being the biggest of the day landed, lost a much bigger one. Corn and peas before work, made my day!
