2026-2027 school year. THE FIRST YEAR EVER THAT ALL 4 KIDS START ON THE SAME DAY! This is such a BIG year for the Loyd kids, and apparently my mama heart was not prepared. Harrison left for his last first day of high school today. And yes, technically I have his whole senior year…but not really. I only have him through December because in January, he’s off to Japan for his second semester. 🇯🇵 So watching him leave for school this morning knowing it was the last time I’d ever watch him head off for a first day from home? Yeah. I’m fine. Totally fine. 😭 Piper is starting her last year of middle school. How exactly is she going to HIGH SCHOOL next year?! And also… can we discuss the fact that she does NOT look like a middle schooler?! Excuse me, ma’am. You are 13. Please act accordingly and stop looking grown. 😭😂 I feel like we need to investigate because the math is simply not mathing. And then my little Sutton. 🥹 New school. New adventures. And her very first bus ride this morning. She climbed right on like a big kid without a care in the world while I stood there trying not to cry. But don’t worry… I handled it like a completely normal, emotionally stable mother and followed the bus to school. 😂 I sat there waiting for her to get off so I can walk her to her classroom. Baby steps, people. BABY STEPS. (Kind of reminds me of Liv’s 1st day of school ever… I sat in the parking lot the whole 3 hours…. Just in case she needed me). And then there’s Liv, starting her senior year at Loyola. Thankfully, God blessed me with one child who apparently never wants to stop going to school because I absolutely cannot emotionally handle another graduation this year. 😂 She’s planning to head right into med school, so while my heart appreciates her decision to delay another “last,” my pocketbook would like to formally object. 💸🤣 God love her. One graduating high school. One finishing middle school. One starting a brand-new school. One starting her senior year of college. Apparently I have officially reached the stage of parenting where I say things like, “Of course you should spend your last semester of high school living in JAPAN!” 🇯🇵✈️ So… Harrison is going to Japan. FOR MONTHS. 😭😂 Am I insanely excited for him? YES. Is this an incredible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? YES. Did I enthusiastically agree to this and am now questioning every life choice that led me here? ALSO YES. He gets to spend his senior year experiencing a culture he loves, eating all the food, learning the language, making new friends and having an adventure he’ll remember forever. Meanwhile, I’ll be at home casually checking flight prices to Japan every 17 minutes and wondering why I raised such an independent child. 😂 I am SO proud of you, Harrison. Sutton tried something new this year and absolutely loves it!! STUNT tryouts are tonight, Saturday and Sunday!!! Think of STUNT as cheerleading’s answer to basketball. It takes all the athletic elements of cheer—stunts, tumbling, jumps, and pyramids—and turns them into a head-to-head game with quarters, strategy, and a scoreboard. If all-star cheer isn’t your thing because of the makeup, travel, and year-round commitment, STUNT offers the same athletic challenge in a shorter season with less weekly commitment while still giving athletes the chance to compete and grow their skills.💪🏆📣💙 taken in Cheer Athletics St. Louis by @loydcrew6
