I am Luke Hanson and I have Maryland Pride

For the past four years I’ve had the blessing, joy, and a honor of being Testudo. Testudo is more than a mascot they’re a symbol for hope, community, and change. I’ve had an amazing ride with this turtle and cannot express how much this opportunity has changed my life. As I leave this chapter behind I think about legacy and how I want my time as Testudo to be remembered.

One day I’ll be forgotten and that’s ok. There has been plenty Testudo’s before me and will be plenty after so my legacy is not about me but instead about pointing others to Testudo. Because no matter how much time passes Testudo will never change.

Similarly I want to share that as a Christian, I’m an ambassador to Jesus. It’s not about me being perfect but instead pointing people to the one who is. Jesus lived the perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again so that anyone who believes in him will be made right with God. I share this with you because this news changed my life and I hope it can change yours too.
