Wowowow somewhat delayed, but excited to share that I’ve been selected for the inaugural Cavendish Arts Science Fellowship through @cambridgeuniversity and @girtoncollege. This is a dream and I want to give an endless thank you to Suchitra Sebastian, Susan Smith, Rob Bowman, Haroon Mirza and the entire @cavendish_artscience selection panel for your willingness to let me run wild with some big ideas.

To all of my UK family I’ll be in residence at Girton College beginning in January! Pls give me a shout ✨ I’m filled with gratitude to have the support of so many amazing and talented people.

You know that scene in Juice when Q smokes the reigning champ with that naughty by nature sample in the DJ battle.. hoodie up, gold chain, big smile, not breaking a sweat… That dance of atoms leaps off the screen. The immutable nature of Black imagination emanates from every fiber, beat, and break. Every memory has its purpose. This one’s for you papa 🖤 taken in Girton College by @lrdthree

You’re kind when no one’s watching
You’re honest about what you need
You’re stronger than you know
You aren’t afraid to shine
You take my breath away

Seven songs for Shirley Turner

There are moments in these seven records that pulled me through the past few months. Some were brief emanations while others were silent and lingered slightly like specters. Regardless of tone or genre, music has continued to be the most consistent form of catharsis in my life. These moments allowed me to grieve from a distance and cope during a time unlike any other.

Every few days after your death I returned to the same question like scripture: Where would we be without the blues? Deep within the darkness of this music we’re connected to something universal and unyielding. These feelings are formless. In this amorphous space, beauty emerges. Because what cannot be seen is eternal.

I still hear your voice 🖤 taken in Syracuse, New York by @lrdthree
