One year ago, I questioned why God let me go through this. Now I see it was part of His plan to bring me closer to Him, to new people, and to my purpose. Gods plan for you is so much greater than you could ever imagine. John 13:7 “Jesus replied, You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Gods timing is always perfect and always will be.

Thank you to my parents for being my rock through this whole journey. Without their unconditional love for me and my passions I don’t know where I would be at today. I am beyond grateful for all of the sacrifices they made for me. From waking up at 5 am to do stretches and exercises to meeting me for every PT appointment. They never stopped believing in me and constantly motivated me when i felt like giving up.
(mom is basically an at home PT at this point)

now… my unfiltered thoughts:
Everyone sees the comeback, but no one sees the time during the injury. The constant uphill battles physically and mentally. 42% of people suffer from some form of depression after ACL surgery. I thought my activities were everything I was, so I began to lose myself. Then I learned that my activity is something that I do, not everything I am. This is the side of things I never thought about before having surgery but it hits you like a truck. Constant thoughts of not returning to the same level that you were before, the thoughts of wanting to give up, or the fear or injuring yourself again. The feeling of watching all of your teammates do the activity you love. All these thoughts and emotions would roam my head for months. After this experience I’ve hated seeing athletes being talked bad about after they come back from an injury knowing how hard they worked to even make it back to that “professional” level.

In the end, I wouldn’t exchange this experience for the world even though I had to make many sacrifices. This has been the most humbling experience of my life. Everyday tasks become nearly impossible. I’ve learned to never take anything for granted even the little things like walking or sitting down. To everyone that was apart of my journey I could never thank you enough for your help and guidance. by @lsb.51

ℒ𝑜𝓉𝓊𝓈

This year has been the most rewarding season I’ve ever had. All year I was told by doctors I wouldn’t be able to march this year due to having knee surgery in July, but none of this stopped me from wanting to be back on the floor one last time. This group has been my motivation since day 1 of recovery, I knew I had to be back out there with them for one more run. I am beyond grateful to have been able to be apart of this group for so long and being able to be surrounded by such amazing members and staff. Thank you to all that have helped me and been there for me during this journey. This is a chapter of my life that I will never forget. Life changing people, lessons and memories. I hope I left a good legacy🪷♥️ by @lsb.51

Thank you NMK…

thank you for everlasting friendships and bonds that are good enough to last me a lifetime. thank you for endless memories and stories to tell in the future. thank you for accepting me and allowing me to grow and be me through the whole journey. no other group i would have wanted to spend the last 6 years with. this journey has been such a blessing and i am beyond grateful that i have gotten to be apart of something special for such a long time. i couldn’t ask for a better second family to spend countless hours with in the hot, cold, or wet. to all the people before me, thank you for teaching me so many skills that i would be able to learn and pass on. to all of the rookies, i hope my first and last year with you guys was enough to make an impact on you and your first season of NMK, and you guys are all such amazing people and i hope you guys continue doing this amazing activity(even though i may have grilled you for feet timing). to all my other underclassman, you guys are so amazing and im so glad i’ve gotten the chance to meet all of you guys and call you guys family. to my fellow seniors thank you for the time we’ve had together and all the countless memories, i can’t wait to see where the future takes you guys and what path you guys all decide to go down. i’m so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people 24/7, so this is what makes it so hard to say goodbye, this activity has forever changed my life for the better and that’s all you can ask for. i know ive won when i know the people next to me feel like my own family. from learning how to drum to being the drum major this whole thing has been special. everyone i’ve had the pleasure meeting in this activity has a special place in my heart. you have forever changed me for the better and i love you all dearly. at the end of the day, i hope i left a good legacy,
