just a poem self reflecting about turning 30 next week paired with a song I listened to so much in my late teens and twenties that even the skips on the CD were memorized by yours truly

It’s the best day in the universe!!! Donnie Day!!!! (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
⋆˚꩜｡˚˖𓍢ִ໋❀⋆˚꩜｡˚˖𓍢ִ໋❀
In the quiet retreats of my mind, I find you there
Memories from lives past and present
that will never know their impact
Expand inside my heart and brighten my body.
In the tranquil light of my wooded mind
In the soft grass of the meadow
You coax me into a dreamless sleep
like that old Glenn Campbell song—
& yes, through cupped hands round a tin can
I do begin to press to you my heart and find
That you are a fastidious fixture of acceptance,
true rest, and joy
& yes, for many hours, days, years, lives
you are so ever-gentle on my mind

They say “the shortest poem is a name” but I think maybe for me, instead, it is your laugh—and I am near it, bathing in it, sometimes, oftentimes, being the cause of it.

Happy birthday, my beloved. You’re the best there is. by @lsdindy

we’ll be in the garden reminding ourselves that the day you eat the fruit is not the same day you plant the seed, that if all else fails watering yourself + eating up the sunshine in big gulps + swaying in the wind really works and other nature themed anecdotes that help a little bit thru life 🌿🧚🏼🫜 by @lsdindy
