To my dear ole poli sci, how i love you so! You’ve built me, taught me, and made me grow. From the nights of studying for Barwick’s exams to hosting events, we have seen each other through it all. To my co-chair, Jasmine , thank you for being by my side. Your work did not go unnoticed during our late night sessions of planning diligently, expressing new ideas, and validating old ones. You are the most amazing bestfriend anyone could ask for, I love you my heart!To my moot court team. Courtney thank you for mentoring me, thank you Dr. Corey Barwick for training me and trusting me to do my job. To my co-counsel, thank you for trusting me to be the best every time I went to the stand and encouraging me to be great. To Darius, my captain 2x, thank you for believing in me when no one else did. You are the captain of everyone’s dreams and one of my bestest friends. You inspired me, radiated positivity, and truly held down the fort. I am honored to be your co-captain and “co-counsel.” I love you past life. To the new moot court babies, I believe in you with all my heart. Im just a phone call or text away. Thank you AMC3 Moot Court for making me a better speaker, researcher, and learner. To the 31 Legal Luminaries, boy we had a timeee! Love my folks like my momma had yall. As the last sib to graduate, I hope I made yall proud. To my big, Amere, thank you for showing me real love, a bond, and friendship outside of TSU. To all the people I have met throughout my journey in the political science program, thank you for trusting me with creating events and for bringing a smile to my face in every class we had. Y’all’s waves in the hallway did not go unnoticed. Hubert Crouch Hall produces scholars, lawyers, politicians, and advocates. Poli sci is considered small, but we are small and mighty with an impact that will touch the world. Officially a Tennessee State Alum Jeremiah 1:5 “ Before I knew you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” These have been my guiding words throughout my time at Tennessee State University. Every trial and tribulation worked out because God will always know what is meant for me. To my Parents (@ninalyles3 & Azell Rose): I thank you for your love, patience, and guidance. Thank you for listening to every crazy story and virtually wiping every tear from my eye. I am honored and very proud to be your first college graduate. I love y’all with all my heart!To my Core Four: Jasmine, Darius, Varner, and Quinton, you all have made my college experience better than what I could ever imagine. Breaking me out of my shell, trusting each other with our stories, and always loving each other wherever we are. The one they’ve been waiting for… As a new Soror of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, wearing crimson and cream is truly every woman’s dream. As the starter of my own legacy, I am honored to build upon what my sorors have set before me and expand on their work in the future. This was not just another achievement or a resume-builder, but a dream to work harder and set the tone in my own work through this organization. To the 65 P.O.L.: Thank you for choosing me and understanding me as a leader on my own path. You all have taught me what it means to be a part of Delta Sigma Theta through your compassion, love, intelligence, and hard work. To my Club: I love my 48! Thank you Antoinette, for embracing me with open arms from the moment we met. Your care to go above and beyond means more to me than you will ever know and pushes me to be greater than I am. To my Sisters: The 65 U.F.A (but the HDIC)! Though our time was brief, I have gotten to know all of you throughout our time together and love each and every one of you. You all are more than capable of making this chapter great and being the best yardrunners TSU has ever seen. The sisterhood that you all covered me in makes the oldest sister heart in me swell with joy. This is not a goodbye, but a see you later my loves. If you need anything, know that your #48 has your back forever and always. The Absolutely Alpha Chi Chapter, is one that is known for their top tier dedication and hard work throughout the entire Dynamic Southern Region. It is a chapter that is forever evolving with bright-minded young women who will graduate and change the world. I am truly blessed to be a soror and initiate of this chapter.
