We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Eli Thomas, a second-year member of our saxophone section.

An active brother of Kappa Kappa Psi and a member of the Tiger Band student staff, Eli was deeply committed to our program and exemplified the Tiger Band Standard. His kindness and compassion shone through in every interaction, and he left an immeasurable impact on the many lives and organizations he was a part of.

We are lucky and forever grateful to have had him as part of our Tiger Band Family, and, as we grieve, we will remember and cherish every moment spent in his company both on and off the field. by @lsusaxophones

We decided to ask the saxes what they REALLY think of the section leaders… 😱😧

Enjoy their responses!

During Preseason Camp a few weeks ago, the saxes were able to attend the 5th annual Matt’s Dinner. Over the last few years, the event has been exceptionally important in helping Tiger Band members recognize the importance of mental health and the resources available to them.

Matt was a member of the saxophone section that tragically lost his battle with depression in 2022. Through their commitment to developing resources and drawing attention to mental health, the Bahlinger family have used their experiences to contribute significantly to the Tiger Band community and we are infinitely grateful for their generosity. Thank you for everything you have done for our section and the band, and forever ΣΑΧ!💙 by @lsusaxophones
