Double contest today. Made the finals at the @scholasticsurf Middle School Scholastic Surf Series this morning but couldn’t surf the final because we needed to get to the @nssasurf . We surfed some tricky hard heats with a ton of close out bombs but thankful to find some corners and get the Win! Lea had her first middle school comp @scholasticsurf last weekend at OB Avalanche. What a fun contest cheering on her Valley teammates and making new friends from other schools. Lea finished 1st in Division 1 Girls Shortboard 6th-8th grade! Valley needed a last minute Girl for longboard so she borrowed coach @kahuna_bob_surf longboard and ended up making the final and getting 2nd overall! Congrats @oakcrestsurf on the overall school win and Go @v.m.s_vikings surf team🔥 #kidsrip by @lt_lloyd

2nd annual @forthegirlssurfclassic_ca was too much fun! It was a day filled with cheering for each other, strengthening friendships and building confidence for our local surfer girls. So stoked to double final and take 5th in 18u and 1st in 12u. All the girls were absolutely ripping! Thank you to all the volunteers and vendors that made such a cool community event. Loved the amazing gift bags, flower lei crown and cutest trophy ever! What a night for the kids… voted best Grom video in the through our lens video contest by @surfride! Such a cool community contest that inspires our youth to be creative and showcase their talent. What an epic time at “The World’s Greatest Event” the State Beach Classic! @statebeach1985 @ulythomas brings the whole community together for the raddest day full of fun, prices, competition, camaraderie but most importantly remembrance of the Carlsbad legend Banning Capps! The kids were on 🔥 Lea won 12u Girls and Open Women’s, Owen won pushin with a 18 point heat total and a prefect 10 in the final and old man dad somehow got a win in 35 plus. Told the kids well that probably will never happen again 😂. It was a cool experience and a day we will never forget! Thanks to all the Carlsbad legends for organizing, judging and creating such a cool experience for everyone… Can’t wait tell next year 🤙🏻 #kidsrip @salty_crew @carlsbadboardridersclub @chris_borst_designs by @lt_lloyd
