old sun, new horizon
it’s here, it’s out!

let me take you on a short trip back in time and behind the scenes. a making of carousel.

in many ways this was the most relaxed way i’ve ever made a record and that’s mainly because of mario who made it with me. having one of your best friends by your side, trusting you, trusting him, taking it all as one big adventure, this was extremely liberating. i was just comfortable to be me and let it all out. thanks so much for this, mizzy my man! so here’s some pics from that part of the process (you can gauge the time gaps by mario’s bleached hair growing out lol)

and then taking our demos with all the fun we’ve had experimenting to manuel who basically said: ok cool, let’s keep most of this and take it to the finish line. that was a revelation. whaat, we already did most of the album without even realizing?? and then of course there was still a lot of work to do, as you can see. overdubbing drums, synths, the literal position in which i sang all the vocals. also one important thing that’s not on a picture: andrina adding her wonderful voice to three songs! <3

i also remember reading ‚wherever you go, there you are‘ on the train to the studio every morning. trying to keep the calm. i think it also contributed to this record.

now, here it is. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did making it.
take care, xo simon
