03:30 AM - the alarm went off. I got myself ready before doing the bride’s makeup and my mom’s, and the day had already begun before the sun was up.

Flora slept through the whole beginning of the day, but once we arrived at the wedding, there were suddenly so many people talking to her, looking at her and wanting to meet her. And honestly it was a lot for a tiny almost two-month old.

Before Flora, I would have spent most of the time on the dance floor. This time, we spent most of it outside, taking little breaks from all the noise and people.
But what a beautiful day it was. Filled with love, family and traditions. We celebrated in the same church where my mom and dad got married, and Flora was even blessed by the priest🤍

Having my entire mom’s side of the family together was probably one of my favorite parts. It’s so rare that we’re all able to gather in one place, so seeing my aunts, uncles, cousins and everyone meeting Flora (and Chris) for the first time was really special.

The wedding was beautiful, the love was everywhere, and our little family felt very lucky to be there. And of course, our night ended early. Baby girl eventually reached her limit, became overstimulated and overtired, and that was our sign to call it a night.

Would I recommend taking a 2month old to a wedding? Honestly, yes, but with realistic expectations. Don’t expect to stay until the end, don’t expect to be so much on the dance floor, and don’t feel guilty about stepping outside or leaving early. You don’t have to stop doing things after having a baby. You just have to do them differently.
For us, it was absolutely worth it. She got to be surrounded by family, we got to celebrate a beautiful day together, and I got to introduce her to so many people who already love her.🤍

The next day, we had a little family day, just the 3 of us, before heading off on our road trip the day after.

fun fact: my cousin has been to 22 weddings this year and still has 4 more to go. This was Chris’ 4th wedding ever.

Travelling with a baby means bringing approximately your entire house…
Good thing my parents took the big suitcase for us. 😂🤍

One more 2-hour drive, and Flora was finally going to meet some very special people🤍

I feel so incredibly grateful that Flora got to meet her great-grandparents from both sides of my family.
My grandfather has been unwell, so having him meet her has truly been a dream of mine. One of those moments I’ll carry with me forever. Unfortunately he’s not in any of these pictures.

Everyone here was so kind, welcoming and genuinely lovely. We talked to them every day and felt so at home from the very beginning.
We had the best stay and will definitely be coming back. 🤍

In Romania, when someone comes to meet the baby, they bring gifts - and cake. Honestly my favorite tradition. 😝
