We know when these issues occur the world changes, but how often do we think about the world changing if all these conflicts would just stop…?

I think this is an important point to discuss because it shifts how we as advocates and activists call for change. In our eyes yes it is beyond selfish and inhumane to value something more than a human life, there are leaders watching their own people suffer because in their minds the benefit of not getting involved is much greater than getting involved.

Congo is bleeding while the world looks away.

Right now, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is facing one of the world's most devastating humanitarian crises. In eastern Congo, families are living through war, mass displacement, hunger, disease, forced recruitment, sexual violence, and foreign interference.

Millions have been forced from their homes and are now living in overcrowded camps where safety, food, clean water, and medical care are never guaranteed.

This is not just a conflict. It is a humanitarian catastrophe.

One of the hardest truths to face is that Congo is not poor in resources. It is one of the most resource-rich countries on Earth. Its minerals help power the modern world our phones, laptops, batteries, electric vehicles, defense systems, and global supply chains. The world knows how to find Congo when it wants coltan, cobalt, copper, gold, tin, and tungsten.

But when Congolese families are displaced, subjected to sexual violence, starved, forcibly recruited, infected, kidnapped, or killed, the world suddenly keep quiet.

That silence is not neutral. It allows systems of exploitation to continue while too many people suffer.

It allows minerals to keep moving while families remain trapped. It allows suffering to become normal. It allows the world to call Congo "complicated" when one truth remains clear: people are being harmed, valuable resources continue to be extracted, and accountability is still too rare.

All the while, the minerals beneath their feet seem to matter more to the world than the lives above them.

Congo does not need pity. It needs attention, accountability, protection, and truth.

The crisis in Congo is not invisible. It is being ignored.

And that should convict us.

During our trip to Sudan, I met countless families whose lives have been turned upside down by this ugly Waر. Every tent held a story, every family carried unimaginable loss, and every child deserved so much more than the life they have been forced to deal with.

Mohammed’s quiet strength and his resilience, are things I’ll never forget.

His story is one of millions, millions of Sudanese people who continue to live through this!!

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life and we speak up about a lot of things, but rarely the NORMALIZATION of mistreatment, racism, violence, and prejudice towards Indigenous peoples and communities.

Since advocating for Sudan the biggest thing I have learned is that change comes faster and voices become louder when people who aren’t part of your community are standing by you and speaking up. It’s unfortunate, but it’s true.

I really hope to be a better advocate and for Indigenous rights and equality. It’s not Truth and Reconciliation if we don’t want to talk about the truth!

Millions of students around the world have had their education interrupted by war, displacement, and crisis.

In Sudan alone, at least 8 million children remain out of school. In Darfur, where Mazin is from, nearly an entire generation of students has had their education disrupted by violence and displacement.

But behind every statistic is a person. A dream. A future still worth fighting for.

Mazin Aboalbashar is a Sudanese geologist currently displaced in Tripoli, Libya due to the ongoing war in Sudan. Despite everything he has faced, Mazin has continued to pursue his education and has been officially admitted to the Master’s Degree in Geosciences for the Energy Transition at the University of Barcelona.

This opportunity is more than a degree. It is a chance for Mazin to rebuild his future, continue his academic journey, and prove that displacement does not have to be the end of someone’s dreams.

At Najwa Foundation, we believe in supporting displaced students one student at a time.

Aid workers you took an OATH to protect…

With the fighting intensifying in Sudan and regions such as Al-Obeid at siege and facing massacres many who have had the ability to flee are relying on aid organizations and refugee camps for survival.

When someone who promised them food, safety, shelter, water, and medical aid decides to take advantage of them, who should they trust to help them in this life or death situation?? We don’t take sexual assault as seriously as we should. In no world should the perpetrators walk free while the victim is left suffering often for LIFE.

We the people demand accountability, we demand a public statement, we demand legal consequences for the staff members who were let go and we demand names.
