27 years ago this October, we played our first show as No Assembly Required at The Big Bop.

We have probably played around 30 shows there over the years, at The Kathedral and Reverb.

So many great nights, with great people, bands, and friends. Lots of memories. We're excited to be a part of this reunion.

What a summer at the Niagara Community Room.

A few months ago, we were still figuring out what this little space on East Main Street in Welland could become.

Over the summer, we’ve watched it come to life.

Community organizations, youth programs, workshops, support groups and local residents have used the space to meet, learn, create and connect — completely free of charge.

The building has changed too. New windows and exterior improvements have transformed the storefront, with more improvements still ahead.

But most importantly, people are using it.

These photos are just a small sample of what’s happened this summer — from community discussions with Luca Mele, to Ambitions Lab and its students, to local groups gathering for programs and activities.

We’re also proud of our partnership with Niagara Health Foundation and an important part of what we’re trying to help more Niagara residents understand:

DID YOU KNOW?

Medical equipment in our Niagara hospitals is NOT funded by the government.

It’s funded 100% by community donations.

That’s why the Niagara Community Room will continue using its growing reach to help raise awareness of how important community support is to healthcare across Niagara.

As we head into the fall, there’s much more ahead.

Thank you to every group, volunteer, Founding Friend, community partner and individual who has helped turn an empty storefront into a community space that Niagara is actually using.

Free community space. Stronger communities. Better awareness of local healthcare.

Before I explained the structure of the meeting the other night, I gave a little introduction as to why it’s important that I host these meetings for the people every month.
Big respect to everyone who came out, especially several of the candidates for the coming municipal elections.

Wow what a night! Welland United together last night as 1 community and 1 voice. More than double the turn out from last month’s meeting. 40 members of the community came out including several candidates for city council.

Huge respect to everyone who showed up and to Cianna Marie Menard Laurence, Marie Mathers-poirier and Joey Mathers-poirier, Cam Wilson of the Niagara Community Room and my parents for their help last night. Team work makes the dream work, and my dream is for us to continue uniting as 1 and bringing forth motions that will reflect our tax payers and bring Welland Back to life!

Another great evening at the Niagara Community Room!

Last night, Ward 5 candidate Luca Mele brought local residents together for an open community discussion about the issues that matter to them in Welland.

It was great to see a full room, people sharing their concerns, exchanging ideas and having a real conversation about their community.

This is exactly what we hoped the Niagara Community Room would become — a free, neutral space where people can come together, connect and have conversations that matter.

Thank you to Luca and everyone who came out and participated!
