Pickathon Presents Chris Acker with Lucas Benoit at The Showdown Saloon on November 14.

Pickathon 2025 alum Chris Acker brings his candid, road-worn take on country and folk, drawing from the folk revival, classic country, punk, and the strange little corners of New Orleans life. His 2024 album “Famous Lunch” is full of sharp character studies, barroom country-rockers, and tender folk songs.

Joining him is Portland songwriter Lucas Benoit, whose 2026 album “Animal” expands his jangly, plainspoken folk-rock into something a little louder and rougher around the edges. A longtime fixture in Portland’s music community, Benoit got his start with The Hill Dogs before building his own catalog and live scene around Starday Tavern.

Friendship and flowers 💐 I am buzzin like a bumblerbee by @lucas_ray_benoit

Lately has been good. Lots of wonderful people in my life. Bailey and I caught the very last piece of summer. We met an amazing crew, witnessed the coolest thing ive seen in a long time, worked with the greatest folks, remembered where the pebble had been tossed into the pond for me. My friends and I will be playing music soon. There’s some tickets in this bio for your purchasing pleasure. 🍅🎸🦄🧚‍♀️🐲❤️🤷 by @lucas_ray_benoit
