I’ve been an athlete my whole life. I’ve always known deep down that I wanted to become a coach. But after a near decade of doing so, I never imagined it would be this challenging.

At first, I thought “I’m new. It’ll get easier once I’m comfortable.” Then I thought “this is a higher level team, there’s bound to be an adjustment.” But the reasons kept coming, and so did the challenges. I have overcome most, but not all. I can only comfortably say that each challenge has made me better at the art of coaching.

I’ve never been in it for the trophies or medals but god damn we have a lot. It’s a fantastic motivator though, I just finished 5th at nationals and we lost to the eventual champions — I’d be lying if I said that didn’t sting.

I’ve been in this to help these young men become better people thru the sport of volleyball. I have watched countless players become better communicators, collaborators, leaders, and people. That’s made the sleepless nights of planning, scouting, and traveling to shitty hotel beds worth it.

I couldn’t be more grateful to be in the position that I’m in at @mvpacademyvb as the Boston Director. Our coaching staff is top tier, and I can’t wait to see what the next three years bring.

Onwards and upwards, and I can’t wait for the national title we’re going to bring to this club soon. I’ll be insufferable then.

ppl get kind of upset when you call it “san fran”
