Happy Mother’s Day to Anita.

Looking back on 2025… it was a year of growth, love, unexpected turns, unplanned adventures, fun and achievements that filled us with pride.

We said goodbye to our beautiful Nala, celebrated big wins, reached milestones, and made decisions that changed everything — for the better.

Hard moments, plenty of laughs, all surrounded by our people. While 2025 wasn’t the year we planned — but one we’ll always remember!

Did you know that 15,531 Australians are told they have bowel cancer each year (299 a week), including 1,716 people under the age of 50. It scares me that I am apart of this statistic the even scarier apart I am one of the ones under the age of 50.

This photo may look like a goofy clown ringing a bell, but to me it symbolises so much more. At the start of the year I was given some life changing news, I had stage 3 bowel cancer. This was the start of one of my biggest battles I have ever faced.

During my chemo treatments I would pass this bell. As bad as this sounds in the back of my mind I would think to myself there is a chance I may not be able to ring this bell. But with the amazing support from my wife Anita Mahy along with the support from family, friends, work and the school community. I was able to push though.

So today I rang this bell not just for the fact that I am now cancer free but for all the people that helped and supported me through this tough time and made me realise what I was fighting for.

So thank you from the bottom of my heart…

One bit of advice that I could give you is to listen to your body. Don’t put off getting things checked thinking it’s nothing. Because that one thing could be the difference of you ringing that bell or not! by @lucasmahy

The twins first day of school and what a day it was. There where some tears and laughter but when we picked them up, we could tell by their smiles they had fun. All 4 of my boys are now in big school William starting year 4, Matthew starting year 3 and now the twins in kindergarten. #4over4 by @lucasmahy
